As a big scifi fan I remember watching this when it first came out and the impact it had. It had a very different vibe and way of being shot compared to most else out there at the time. While it does have some stumbled in my opinion it's a very interesting and solid overall execution. Many thought he would be the next big director in this space but then he had a few releases, the Halo thing that fell apart, and as far as I know mostly still puts out shorts and the like on YouTube and the like now. I haven't checked yet if you've seen it, as I just thought of it, but Arrival is a very unique and excellent scifi film as well that handles aliens in a different way than most media, that you may enjoy, directed by the famous Denis Villenueve and has some fantastic cinematography. Thanks for the upload!

Neil was done dirty with Alien. He was suppose to do a new Alien movie and the idea was to totally ignore Alien 3. So it was a sequel to Aliens with Ripley, Newt and Hicks returning. Hicks with a scarred face because of the acid burn in Aliens. But Ridley Scott messed with the studio and it got scrapped and they made Ridleys shitty new Alien movie instead of return of marines and original actors. You can Google concept art from Neil's planned movie. Looked cool as hell.
