I do think it’s overhated but not top 3-4. I think season 1-5 is better and resurrection. I think 7 is one of the worst (which is an unpopular opinion.

At 34:29 Zach in the back seat of the car asking 'are we there yet?' was supposed to look like a family going on vacation. They wanted the audience to imagine if Dex and Hannah had a child. I completely forgot that this was going to happen to Zach; in my (bad) memory he was around longer. I wonder if Joey tried to frame Zach.

I can't wait for you to get to the spinoffs ... will you be doing them in release order? You definitely need to do New Blood first, but not sure if you lose anything by shifting the prequel to the end if you want to continue the main storyline with Resurrection, which is one of the best seasons (up there with 1, 2 and 4 for me).

This episode of Dexter is my top 10 favorite episodes of Dexter. Some can't believe that I have a season 8 episode in there, but I do. Based on my most recent top 15 favorite Dexter episodes, I put this at number 10 for those wondering.

They designed them based on their plans at the time so in this instance I think it makes sense to watch in release order imho but I'm up for whatever.

With stuff like this sometimes it's legitimate and sometimes it's more nuanced like this, where there are legitimate criticisms but I think it's also overheated. We have the clarity of seeing it as one whole thing and at a consistent pacing. Back then, you had wait between each season, there was expectations and build up, etc. We also know what happens, whereas imaginations can run wild otherwise. Some shows are like that, and I'd say Dexter had better quality consistency than majority shows that are 6-8 seasons tbh. . That said I do think the mostly successful spinoff also help to temper some of the issues people had.

Staineless

Zach was legit one of my favourite characters in the entire show. We only got to see a little of him but the enthusiasm, the questions, how easily he gets distracted such as when he noticed Dexter had changed up the plastic wrap in his room. I kind of wish he was introduced in an earlier season so he could have had a longer and better run.

A colossal waste of time. He was so good in a season that doesn’t even feel like a finale.
