I'm glad Jake Elway has a crush on Debra 'cause if he didn't , it'd make no sense for him to have kept her on the job for so long. Similar to Miami Metro -- There's no way she'd be offered her job back so quickly except they all love her and Angel even said at one point that she's like a sister (although tbh I think Jamie is cuter heh just saying)

Great reaction. To answer you question about the police handling Saxon, he knows ways too much, so the fear is he would rat out all of them. Rule 1 don't get caught and he knows a good bit about them all. Dexter knows he has been surveilled by him, and while cameras weren't as widespread back then Dexter also can't know for sure he wasn't recorded by him unknowingly.

Dexter points out that Saxon had access to Dr Vogel's computer and was monitoring her work and perhaps even recording things with cameras and microphones, so no reason he couldn't make a deal and turn them in, with real evidence to back up assertions. It's safer to kill him, but also more fun — Dexter gets to test his wits against another intelligent killer and gets his bloodlust reward in the end if he comes out on top.

Dex is being kind of hypocritical about Saxon. Dex wants Saxon, the serial killer that Dr. Vogel loves, dead, but he doesn't want Hannah, the serial killer that he loves, dead. But Saxon did kill Dex's neighbor, and left Zach's dead body in his apartment. Saxon might be jealous that Dex is getting so much of his mom's attention. He might want to hurt other people that Dex is close to.
