This episode was leaked in some shitty russian fandub right on episode nine release, so there was NO way for me after episode nine to not watch the leak right away. Also I've created a whole excel document with names from Prater's files (not sharing it because know you don't like to know anything about series you watch and there are names that we can see in season two) but I can share one which won't appear. I can't be sure if it was intended but there was a name from a New Blood series character (Elric) Kane who was working for Kurt Caldwell, the guy who abducted Dexter in episode 7 and was killed by him in an episode 8. I think he attended Prater's serial killers gatherings was talking about Kurt's runaway kills for money until Dexter killed him. There were no mentions of any sort to back up my theory but I think this is interesting detail and if it was not intended they should canonize it.

Insane run, Dexter Resurrection definitely will make a bigger comeback with og characters, there's a high chance that Jamie will return along with Quinn and Masuka, either way season 2 has a bigger opportunity in expanding the universe itself, and i'm not sure if Astor and cody 's actors will come back. Was nice watching u start with the pilot in July 2025 and end up with Resurrection in May 2026.

About characters coming back would be cool if they opened the season with Batista's funeral in Miami where we'll see most characters of OG cast, who is alive after 10 years, just for one episode. With Jamie, Auri, Nina, Quinn, Masuka, Thomas Mattews, Bobby from Original Sin maybe? and Astor and Cody. Maybe it's unpopular opinion but I hope Quinn won't play a major role in season 2 I think him being the only one who knew who Dexter is and chose to don't fuck with him and survive with no trouble is actually good and fitting the character. And we don't need to get bullshit like "He wasn't sure before that Dexter was actually..." or Quinn suddenly changed his mind after Batista dies because he feels guilt that he is part of the reason why he died because didn't tell him that Dexter was actually the BHB and that he knew about it since 2010 when Dexter killed Stan Liddy.

One problem though. Astor & Cody returning to attend the funeral of their stepdad’s former coworker who they didn’t have a close relationship with would be forced fan service & unrealistic. Both actors have also seemingly stopped acting years ago so for them to return it would need to be more meaningful than that.

I mean, Astor and Cody knew Angel and Auri. On screen, they were hanging out together at least once in season 2 (And God knows how much time they have met "outside screen" for those 5 years Dexter and Rita were close). But yes, I thought about that. They have no way of putting them in the script to appear in season 2 of Resurrection any other way. However, if they wanted to make a cameo and bring them back, I think one cameo at the funeral would be more believable and realistic than an accidental meeting. Regarding the fact that they stopped their careers, Christina Robinson, the actress who played Astor, had two roles in 2025, so I guess she didn't stop. Also, the second actor to play Cody, Preston Bailey (S2–S5), was at the premiere of Dexter: New Blood in 2021, so I don't think he would categorically refuse a cameo. Christina was also at the afterparty for the New Blood premiere, so I don't think they would both firmly reject a small cameo with one or two lines for the fans if it were offered to them.

Everyone intensely disliked the og ending and the New Blood ending and also ended up hating Harrison. So Resurrection was SO good for so many reasons but it majorly saved Jack Alcott's career. He said he even got death threats. They had planned a Harrison spinoff which they ditched. So, the writers listened to the fans, gave us good old Dexter and at the end when Dexter looks at the camera (us) and says "I'm exactly who you want me to be" it is so true!!!

The actors who play Astor & Cody are 28 & 25 now. They don’t seem to act anymore though.

Sad to see this Dexter run "end" but looking forward to future stuff! Really excited for season 2 of this! Just hope they'll stop that spoiler-y thing in the beginning of the episodes! Great reactions all he way through this franchise, really enjoyed it!

I don't want to see Quinn or Masuka too much in Season 2 because I don't want either to die. I don't want Dexter to die either, or go to prison though I understand that's the logical end for the series. Worse than both of those options is ending like the Tooth Fairy, too old and feeble to do what his urges demand. My hopes is that Lumen comes back. She is the only loose thread still out there who truly knows who Dexter is, that we know of at least, besides Charlie who is unlikely to be interested in crossing him after the car scene and after learning that he got Prater she will nope out of that situation for her mother. So, Lumen. Really hoping. Oh, there is one more loose thread actually, Jonah Mitchell. During this season there was a lot of speculation about who was the New York Ripper right until we saw his name at the end, the detective guy was the number one suspect but a lot of people felt it could be Jonah. Completely nonsensical, the timelines don't match up but it reminds us that Jonah is still out there and knows Dexter killed his father. He is also a killer and while Dexter let him go, maybe he carried on killing? So excited for season 2, this is my favourite show by far and watching your journey has been fantastic.

Missed opportunity at the end for Dex to tell Prater how the Ice Truck Killer was his brother and he killed him. And that he killed Trinity etc Would have blown Prater’s mind! Still epic tho!

I demand Masuka and Quinn as major characters in future seasons. IMO Dexter has to end with Dexter being caught and getting the electric chair ⚡️⚡️. I want Masuka on the warpath for justice for Angel. I want Quinn on the warpath for justice for Deb and Angel. They should meet with Claudette, compare notes, realize Angel was right and died for it. They should both be brought into NYPD as official consultants, with Miami Metro PD in partnership with NYPD to solve Angel’s murder and reopen the Bay Harbor Butcher case.

As is Dexter himself. I think she's a "good" foil to Dexter's "bad." She demonstrates he wasn't fated to be a serial killer. His drive and instincts could have been channeled differently.
