Hey everyone,

I just wanted to give you a small update. I recently moved to Florida just a few months ago, and already experiencing my first hurricane. At the moment, it looks like I will likely get hit. I'm all rather inexperienced in this matter as I've lived in Cali my whole life, but I want to make sure my safety is number one priority. Second, I don't want to take the chance of having power go out for multiple days and lose out on all that time for work.     I plan on driving out of state and into a hotel for a few days at least. Somewhere where I likely won't get it and have guarantee power for my computers. So in short... I'll be taking a 7-8 hour to Georgia, stay in a hotel and keep working as scheduled. Will come back home as soon as I know the storm has passed and power is back on.

Always a good option to evac, especially as strong as it's going to be. I have to stay for work. 😭🌊 Be safe, and thanks for the update!

Hurricanes really aren’t that big a deal - I’ve lived through dozens of them and while they tend to make a mess of the yard, places that get hit by them frequently are pretty prepared for it. It’s the just big nasty cat-4 and cat-5 ones that you gotta evacuate for. Cat-3 and below tend to just tear off tree limbs and rain sideways.

Stay safe! Hurricanes usually aren't a big deal, but power outage sucks for sure

Please be safe and thanks for your dedication with the work!

You left California to get away from the earthquakes and moved to Florida. Hmmm.

I've lived in Houston for a looong time, and been through several. It looks like it'll be a minimal hurricane by the time it gets to you, so I wouldn't be too worried. Losing electricity is a good probability, though. The bigger worry is water. If there are any rivers or bayous near you, make SURE to elevate anything electrical before you leave. Be careful.

Stay safe, and good luck.

Kind of ironic that landfall now appears to be the Georgia coast. It's chasing you!! You must have been a baaadd boy this year. Seriously, any news about damage to or near your home?
