1) This is the next character. He wasn't seen in the final version. Was he replaced by Jin?

Answer 1) The young man in this rider suit (street biker) was proposed as the main character design at the game planning stage.

-Yes, the team (eventually) chose Jin. The reason was that it wasn't a Martial Arts costume.

-I thought other (game) makers would also make games with a design similar to (copy) the main character of "Street Fighter", so I suggested a rider suit character to differentiate him (make him more unique). The team didn't really like the adventure.

2) Do you remember if he had a name?

Answer 2) He has no name because he was still in the character concept stage.

3) Do you know what nationality he was?

Answer ➂ Probably Japan.

4) What kind of fighting style did he have?

Answer ④ I think he is karate.

5) What was the idea behind his design? Was it a management request or was it your own idea?

Answer ⑤ Oh, as I mentioned earlier. Yes, this design is entirely my inspiration.

6) Do you have any thoughts on what his story or personal information was like?

Answer ⑥ I haven't really thought about it.

-From the beginning, SNK has moved KOF's character design away from the martial arts style (and become more unique). It's a pity that it (my MC) wasn't adopted because I also proposed it as a concept.

Me: Is there anything else you would like to say? Would you like to name him now? ^^

Akasaka: That's right. How about Makoto's nickname, Mark? Or Mac

Me: Hmm. Both names work in English.

-The name Mac is the name of a Scottish boy, and the Irish origin means "son".

-Mark The mark is abbreviated from Marcus, the traditional masculine name meaning "dedicated to the god of Mars." It is derived from the Latin word Mart-kos.

-In the Bible, the mark means "polite and shining."

Akasaka: Which is better for him, Mack or Mark?

Me: Mark "Dedicated to the God of Mars" !!

Akasaka: I see! Thank you, so his name is Makoto "Mark".

Me: Yeah! He's the protagonist, so he needs a strong persona-type name!

Akasaka: Oh, I wasn't thinking about family names

Me: Oh maybe he can have a Mars / War God style surname.
