[Art by Dean Spencer]

I am happy to say that the current map in development is my interpretation of the Yawning Portal, an Inn of great reknown featured in several modules/campaigns.

As part of the process, I've decided to also include a domesticated mimic that is primarily responsible for feasting upon table scraps, and I thought it might be a fun exercise to solicit some good suggestions for names.

Thus -- please provide your best suggestion for this table-scrap eating, domesticated mimic, and I will form a poll of my favorites upon which to vote!

I will have this mimic illustrated and included (ultimately) in the Map Pack for the Yawning Portal, though I may need to add it in arrears depending on how long it takes the artist to create the piece!

Looking forward to your suggestions!

I had a goblin with a pet mimic in a game I ran. It's name was "Gimme," and Gimme was quite a hit.

ET for Eating Table

IDK why but the first thing I thought of was "Yermum". Like some fresh faced adventures are eating at a table an the mimic comes over begging for scraps so they ask Durnan "Who's this little guy?" And Durnan sarcastically says "Your Mom" but the adventures miss hear it. "Why hello Yermum!"

Ruby, because that's the name of our dog who eats our scraps and licks our floors clean

I think there's two lines of thought on this. Its either a short, one-syllable name like some of the greats above, or like "Snakz" ... or you go fully the other direction and give him a name that sounds like a noble house name or something like "Ser Rozenvold von Snackerton" :P

Curious

It doesn't really have a name. We usually just call it the name of the last person ate, keeps things fresh

I would go with either "Ditto" or "Poly." Ditto because he copies the furniture around the tavern and Poly as short for polymorph.

Lukaluke

Percival. I love how dowdy it sounds.
