Leah and Marie Love step into the ring for a set that brings together boxing, a little nostalgia, and plenty of attitude. With worn gloves, taped ropes, trophies lining the walls, and warm light spilling across the gym, the setting has character in every corner.

The cropped white tanks, red and white bottoms, striped socks, and classic Converse give the shoot a playful, retro feel. I love how those simple details work with the colors already in the room—the red gloves and punching bags, the blue mats, and the faded ropes tying everything together.

With two people in the frame, there’s always another interaction to photograph. Working the pads, sharing a spot on the ropes, leaning into each other beside the heavy bag—Leah and Marie give the set a relaxed rhythm that carries through to the portraits. The direct looks toward the camera bring the attitude; the moments together bring the personality.

One of my favorite things about this series is how much of the gym stays in the photographs. Even in the closer portraits, you get a sense of the space around them. Then the wider frames let you take in all those details, right down to the final shots together on the tractor tire.
