I'm back!

As we say in my country – "I'm going through the guts of a bull." There's a lot on my plate, not only with the game project but also in my personal life and job. It’s a hectic period, and it seems things will only calm down in November. I feel like I need a secretary because my head can no longer contain everything that needs my attention!

Anyway, the game update will be released as an early access release at the end of next week. Don't mark the exact day on your calendars yet, as it could be any day from Friday to Sunday. I'll have to postpone the September wallpaper release to make that happen. I'll work on those once the game is out of early access. Apologies to those who were looking forward to the wallpapers.

I had a bit of a revelation this week. In just three days, I learned more about image post-processing than in the past five years combined. And most importantly—I finally get it. I finally know what I'm doing. Of course, that means my eyes now hurt when I look at the past couple of game updates, but that's part of the process. And hey, this is just my first game, so I’m allowed to make mistakes, right? At least, that's what I keep telling myself.

That's all for now, as I've already covered the main points.

See you in a week. Have a great week, and thank you for your support!

Regards,

The one good thing when you get out of school/university is that you do not have to learn thing in order to use them once or twice, but you will use them for the rest of your (job) life, hopefully. When I got a D or F in an exam, I was down when in the university. It felt like a final mark of my abilities. But now, I can analyze my mistakes and get better. And even the hardest stuff I put through is getting a little easier the next time. Will you tell us what exactly you learned or how you even came to this giant step forward? By the way, I am trying to re-synchronize my Patreon-payments to the first of the month (I want to keep an easier overview). Since Patreon changed the payday from the 1st to "whenever you joined" and does not offer a pause-membership option, I am currently cancellig a lot of memberships and rejoin them soon (at the first of the month). When looking at your tier-levels, I realized that you uipped your tiers a lot. Hope this works for you and does not hinder new members to join.

I wanted to reply sooner, but I've been extremely busy with the new game update. The skills I've learned recently have given me a clear understanding of how to achieve the results I want. For example, I've learned to work with colours without affecting luminance and to develop contrast focused solely on luminance without oversaturating the colours. I’ve picked up quite a few tricks for colour-grading images. The only limits on the images I create for the game are my taste and willingness to experiment with colour. Having learned a bit from past mistakes, I'm cautious about adding too much contrast to the images. But the main benefit is understanding. How did I get here? I always felt like I was taking too many steps during post-processing, and somewhere in the middle, the original sharpness of the images was getting lost, which then needed restoring. I kept coming back to this issue until I finally figured it out. You’ll see the results tomorrow evening. Regarding membership tiers, I've rounded the numbers. I live in the EUR zone, so my tiers are 5, 10, and 20 EUR. I used to have lower-priced tiers, but they weren't very popular. I’m releasing weekly updates for everyone so they’re no longer behind a paywall. I'm always open to suggestions about tier benefits, but unfortunately, I haven't received much feedback or suggestions so far.
