Weekly Update 44/2024 (Patreon)

Hi!

I’d love to tell you that everything went perfectly according to plan this week, but unfortunately, I can’t. The good news, though, is that the results are still on track—thanks to some late-night work sessions.

I’m in one of those phases of uncontrollable creativity right now, and I’ve become obsessed with writing. Alongside SR, I’ve been working on a new game set to debut after SR concludes. Some periods in this process are quiet, while others—like now—are entirely overwhelming. Over the past few months, I’ve written around 250 pages. The world is built, and I’ve completed the events of the introductory portion. Learning from my past experiences, I know this new game needs much more meticulous preparation. The main character is modelled, and I’ve finally settled on her hairstyle—one that I really like.

But don’t worry! SR isn’t taking a backseat, and Laura’s journey will still unfold over the next couple of years. As much as I enjoy working on Laura’s story, sometimes focusing on one character exclusively can become a little exhausting. This new project gives me a refreshing creative outlet when I need it.

Being a solo developer is exciting, but juggling all the moving parts can also be mentally taxing. That said, as planned, I’ll be back to working on SR next week. Barring unforeseen circumstances, early access for the next update should launch just before Christmas.
