Hi!

Last week, I concentrated on the most crucial challenge of the remaster: seamlessly integrating the Special Request system so it feels coherent, tense, and platform-compatible without compromising the story’s edge.

What I did

Built and tested the new SR integration across early beats. Created approximately 150 new images to support the revised flow and atmosphere. Fully re-rendered Week 2 — Monday, ensuring the emotional chain and pacing land as intended.

Why this matters

The remaster is structurally distinct. SR now develops from character choices and corporate rituals, rather than outright coercion. This clarifies Laura’s arc and makes it more believable. At least I hope so...

What’s next

With Monday (Week 2) rebuilt, the path ahead is much clearer. I aim to polish and release Chapter One (the first two in-game weeks as a complete package). My plan is to finalise it over the next couple of weeks, then press “publish.”

Meanwhile, I’ll continue rendering and wiring in the remaining pieces this week, while tightening transitions and diary notes.

Thanks for sticking with me through this reconstruction. Your support allows me to give the story the time it deserves. If you have thoughts about the new SR framing you’d like me to consider as I finish Chapter One, please drop them in the comments — I read everything.

So, if I understand right, each chapter covers two weeks in the SR story?

So, is SR now forked into SR "classic" (next 2.x version) and SR Remaster or did u decided to deep follow the Remaster to catch Classic branch timeline?

Nemiegs

The game’s timeline remains the same as before. In a few rare cases, some events have been rearranged — for example, the detective’s death now happens earlier to increase the sense of danger and raise Laura’s stakes right away. But the deeper you go into the story, the fewer changes you’ll notice. Eventually, everything reconnects with where we left off in version 2.8. I’m not re-rendering the whole game — the remaster focuses mainly on the first two weeks, adding new scenes and restructuring early events so the overall story makes more sense and flows better. Later, there will be a few new events to strengthen the updated storylines — but not too many.

Daniele

Understood. So the Remastered is the main focus from now on till we'll reach 2.8's events (or at least when you complete first two weeks). Is it correct? (btw, looking preview images seems "yes")

OK, but I forbid you from modifying the parade scene featuring Laura and her colleagues in whiteface make-up 🤩 (a masterpiece ahead of its time) or the Hall of Shame 😄. I know you were going to remove scenes that you were no longer convinced by, such as the one with the clown on the pavement who could hypnotise Laura. Could you list these scenes in future patch notes? I've played up to the point where BB meets his evil mother and she gives him an ultimatum to make a decision. I've always been a fan of your suspenseful music, ugly characters, and city atmosphere. Have a great week 💪!

Thanks! That parade scene is classic. One of my best ever. That stays.
