This week was… a lot.

Until this morning, everything was progressing fairly well. Remastering and rendering were advancing — I am only about two days behind my internal schedule, mainly because those same two days were sacrificed in combat against Steam.

But! Work on Chapter 2 continues, and honestly, I’m beginning to think the entire game might actually be finished in about a year. More or less. Don’t mark the date yet, don’t book venues, don’t buy cake — but the momentum is real.

Once I finish one whole week of Chapter 2, I’ll post it here for you to play immediately.

Front #1 — The Remaster

Rendering and scene work are nearly on track. The story is coming together the way I wanted for a long time.

Front #2 — Steam, My New Arch-Nemesis

My Storefront page is now approved — technically, I could already set it to Coming Soon, but I want to play it safe and avoid any unnecessary moves before the game itself is approved.

This morning, Steam returned the build to me, demanding unlocked galleries and save files. So... I unlocked the galleries, supplied the saves, and now I wait another week for the next verdict from Mount Valve.

There is so much to learn about this whole process — and it only gets more complicated when you’re a solo dev who genuinely just wants to write stories and create pretty pictures. And to afford some food... that too. 🙂

Front #3 — My Knees vs. Planet Earth

For the past few years, my knees have been screaming at me like unpaid interns. Yes, I know they're completely gone after the service, but I get regular injections and work with a physiotherapist, and the pain shouldn't be like this. This week, I found out it's actually a long-past case of Lyme disease—a lovely souvenir from my forest days.

Good news: antibiotics should help.Bad news: three weeks without alcohol — not ideal when fighting Steam's application jungle.Good news again: the antibiotics end before New Year’s Eve, so I refuse to welcome 2026 sober. No way.

Next Week

Work continues. I plan to code during the first days of Week 3 so that the structure of Chapter 2 begins to take shape.

Thank you all for your patience and support — every message means more than you can imagine. Have a fantastic weekend and an even better week ahead!

Circuitarity

Steam rules are really randomly enforced and so loosely worded they could deny you because you use the word "the" not because you shouldn't but because they feel like it today. I hope steam will finally figure it all out and let you publish there. Also it's a good idea to hold off on the coming soon or they might decide you are promising the moon and only they own the moon.

I wasn't familiar with that disease 😐. In fact, I was going to joke that the knee problem might be from playing football. Thank goodness I've never experienced any leg pain, except for a huge cramp a long time ago when I was cycling. Get well soon ❤️‍🩹! Regarding Steam, I knew about the request for an unlocked gallery from other developers. I thought you knew that, too. Otherwise, I would have mentioned it months ago, saving you all the back-and-forth with Steam 🤣. I even joke that they want the gallery unlocked because they're lazy and don't want to play the whole game, but actually it's to check for hidden content such as depictions of minors or bestiality (just some control).

I’m not the one to take the easy way out. That’s not who I am. As we say in my family, I am quite strong, but not that bright 😁

Fingers crossed everything works out and you get better soon!
