This week, I once again managed to get an unexpected amount of work done.

Rendering for Day 3 of Chapter 2 is almost finished. It turns out you can accomplish quite a lot if you wake up at 5:00 and go to bed at 22:00, just like a well-behaved medieval monk. I’ll continue to push forward next week.

And now… the real headline...

Today. Today it happens. The Steam release of Chapter 1. A huge milestone.

I’ve already bought a party hat, a whistle, and — let’s be honest — alcohol. This needs to be celebrated.Unless, of course, the Mac version explodes...

I am not a Mac user. I packaged the game exactly according to the instructions, tried to simulate launches via GitHub, and theoretically, everything works. But I haven’t actually seen it run with my own eyes.

Gatekeeper is a known issue with Ren’Py games and is usually easy to bypass — but is there something else?Do you know?Have you played the Mac version?

If yes, please tell me now, while I’m still sober and can fix things.Later, it will be too late.Later, I’ll be drunk and writing rude replies to bad Steam reviews.

That’s it. I think my mental breakdown process is now officially complete.

Have a great weekend. And if you’ve ever played Special Request on Mac — seriously, let me know.

Nemiegs, going down the drain.

Atā, čau.

I'm really happy that the Steam version is coming out, I'll buy it right away because it deserves great support!! 😁❤️

It says it will be released in about 5 hours, if I have calculated correctly, around 19:00 GMT. Nemiegs, you have time to get drunk and sober up.🤣🍸

Nemiegs

Impossible to sober up that quickly from the amount I intend to drink...

Nemiegs

Thanks, that means a lot!

Zargot

I do play on Mac. When I get home I’ll buy the game and I’ll let you know.

"Later, I’ll be drunk and writing rude replies to bad Steam reviews." LOL love the optimism, but big grats on getting the steam release :)

I received the notice that Special Request Chapter 1 was released on Steam and immediately bought it. I didn't buy it to save the 20% off but because this was the most immediate way to show my long term (since day 1) support and my fervent desire to see the whole story released on Steam so I can actually support the whole project.

Zargot

Tried the Mac version. It works but I had to open the game going directly to the folder files through the finder. If I try to start the game directly from steam it doesn’t work. Don’t know if the problem is on the steam part but it looks like it. Once y open the game manually it worked without issues.

Sadly I already played the whole chapter already so now I waiting again. Whaaassa

Good evening Nemiegs, I bought your game on Steam on day one to support your work. However, I haven't played it yet. Let me explain: it's not that I don't like your game; I love your concept, and having a female protagonist is excellent. However, I'm French, and I'd like to know if your game will ever be translated into French. Thank you in advance for your reply, and I commend your work.

PickerPatron

The time is approaching to compare the two version: OG Patreon vs. New Steam. Does anyone have two monitors to carry out this comparison properly? 🤣.

Waris

Patreon vs. New Steam - has the new steam version been watered down ???.

Nemiegs

No. The content itself is the same. What has changed is the framing — PAM dialogue is written in a more corporate / HR-style tone, which is intentional institutional power.

Nemiegs

Thank you very much for your kind words and for supporting the project on Steam — I truly appreciate it. Currently, I don’t have the capacity to actively work on localisations. As a solo developer, my main focus must remain on writing, rendering, and developing the core game. However, if and when official localisations become available, French would undoubtedly be among the first languages I would seriously consider. There has already been interest from the community in various languages, and I am very grateful for that. For now, the best way to support future localisation efforts is simply to maintain sustained interest and support for the project as it continues to grow.

Nemiegs

😄 Yeah—if we’re talking OG version vs. the Steam rewrite, then yes, that’s the real comparison. Let's say it’s more about a different framing and pacing...

Nemiegs

Oh, if you’re referring to the original, pre-rework version, then yes — this will likely feel different. Chapter 1 on Patreon and Steam is the same content, just framed slightly differently.

thank you for your response

I?m on Mac--- so I'm letting you know that the game works fine.
