This past week was my first complete week with Special Request live on Steam.

It was intense — not in a negative way, but because the experience is so different from Patreon. Steam is much quieter and much more revealing about how people actually engage with the game.

What stood out to me most is that Chapter 1 seems to be doing exactly what it was designed to do: filtering, not rushing. The players who stay tend to take their time, read carefully, and notice tone and implication rather than just surface content.

That’s reassuring — and also clarifying. It confirmed several design decisions moving forward, particularly for Chapter 2.

Rather than obsessing over Steam day by day, I did what I work best with and went back into production mode. I’ve now completed all the renders planned for the first three days of Chapter 2, and I’m genuinely looking forward to starting the next game day tomorrow.

Overall, it was a challenging but grounding week — and a better one than I had expected. I’m pleased with how things have settled, and I’m glad I'm experiencing this phase now.

Have a great week ahead — and thank you, as always, for the support.

Keep going. Even though the changes from the original left some doubts, I have to say that it remains and is a great game. My heartfelt congratulations.

Can barely wait for all the seasons to be released on Steam. Could you give me a timeframe so I can just climb in my suspension pod and wake up when it's done? Just kidding I know there is no way you could give an accurate timeframe... very excited for you.

Nemiegs

Actually, I can give a timeframe 🙂 More on this subject tomorrow...

Just wanted to ask you. Besides the improvement of the renders are you gonna make a lot of changes regarding the plot of the old version? I’m asking because I’m tempted to play the old build but if there are gonna change a lot of things I rather wait for the steam release of the next chapters.

That’s a fair question — and the short answer is: the backbone of the story hasn’t changed. The core structure, the main characters, their roles, and the underlying conspiracy are the same. The “who is who” and “why this exists” aspects are intact. What has changed is the delivery. The remaster is about reworking how it unfolds. Many scenes are different — sometimes subtly, sometimes significantly — and some events have been replaced or restructured entirely to better support pacing, tone, and Laura’s agency. Even when the overall progression feels familiar, the way moments are framed and experienced often does not. In short: same spine, different body.

Well, I completely forgot about the release date 😅. I'll look for it on Steam. I suppose Chapter 2, which covers weeks 3 and 4, will be quicker since it will require less rework. I suppose the initial renders were the most labour-intensive, and that's already been done. It's a shame to have the game split into four parts instead of just one .exe with DLCs, but it'll sell better this way, so it's fine 🫠👍. Regarding what you said about removing unnecessary content, the scene where Laura can be hypnotised by an evil clown in the street comes to mind 🤣.
