Weekly Update 30/2026 (Patreon)
Content
Hi, guys!
This week, I fell a little behind my planned schedule. I have excuses.
On Wednesday, something completely unreasonable happened for September here: 26°C (81°F).
That was probably my last chance to meet summer for the next nine or ten months, so I took the day off.
And, well...There's no point pretending otherwise. I had a slight hangover the next day.
So that's one day and... let's call it another partially functional day. 😄
But there's another reason, and this one is actually related to some changes I'm making to my development process.
I have a lot of DAZ files where Laura's clothes need replacing, gravity simulations need running, and everything needs to be saved again before I can render it.
None of this is creative work. I can undress Laura and redress her with scripts, which is an odd sentence to include in my job description, but I can't properly handle the gravity simulations that way.
So I spend a ridiculous amount of time waiting.
Waiting for a file to open.
Waiting for the simulation.
Waiting for it to save.
Repeat.
And then I realised something. I have a wife with some free time.
(Yes, yes. I know. This is the second or third weekly update in a row where I've mentioned my wife. I promise I'll stop eventually. She seems to be slowly becoming a member of the development team.)
And...
I have a spare RTX 3090.
You can probably see where this is going. Only two things were missing:
1. My wife's agreement.
That wasn't easy, but I managed it. She already suspects this is only the first step...
2. A second computer built around my old and extremely trustworthy RTX 3090.
Simple, right?
So I contacted a couple of companies about the remaining components.
And then...
Then I had to change my pants... And clean the chair I was sitting on.
WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO COMPUTER HARDWARE PRICES?!
Anyway.
After a shower and about an hour of crying, I decided to build the damn thing.
Over the past two days, instead of following my development schedule, I've been preparing my wife's new workstation.
And I have to admit, I'm doing it with a little jealousy. If we ignore the RTX 5090 in my own machine, her new computer is probably two heads above mine in almost every other respect.
And that huge curved monitor...
Uhhh.
It's fine. I don't need it. It wouldn't even fit on my desk.
I DON'T NEED IT.
So there we are.
I'm currently a couple of days behind schedule, but hopefully I'll recover that time once I have two computers, and potentially two people, working on Chapter 3.
We'll see how this experiment goes.
That's it for today.
Thank you, as always, for your support!
Have a wonderful Sunday and a great week ahead!
