Yeah that last scene is Shane thinking of Ilya in order to get off. And Ilya went home alone that night. In the books, over the years of their situationship, Ilya hooks up lots of girls. Ilya does hook up with men sometimes but less so because he has to hide it cause he's in the closet. Shane avoids relationships with women for the most part (hence, Ilya saying he never sees Shane with girls) until Rose (which feels driven by Ilya's questioning). And in the book, Shane sleeps with like 2-3 other men during this time. Shane definitely is not about hook ups unlike Ilya. Also, Shane is not a goalie. Both Ilya and Shane are the star center of their teams and team captains.

Can’t wait for your reaction to episode 5. It’s my fav episode of the season. And the episode briefly achieved a perfect 10/10 rating, tying with Breaking Bad's "Ozymandias" as the highest-rated TV episode in history, before settling at 9.9.

this was genuinely one of the best reactions i’ve seen to this episode because you’re actually perceptive and understand the subtleties and small details. a lot of people didn’t even catch that they called each other by their first names and how big of a deal that was. ilya and shane’s conversation on the couch was also wildly misinterpreted by many people. ilya was asking questions and trying to get shane to open up and see where he stands and how he might actually feel, both of them are just very bad at communicating directly and lots of reactors missed the mark when trying to understand that conversation. even with the club scene you caught the lyrics and the meaning behind it and how it relates to their current situation which was very refreshing! super excited for the next ep, it’s my personal fav so i’m curious to see your thoughts ☺️
