One of the reasons why I love this show is the way that it leans in and values the romance genre. I haven't really ever seen such a faithful adaptation of a romance book. Usually, they change so much and water down the romance and have to add other plot lines because they don't trust the romance to stand on its own. This episode, episode 6,especially really showed that too. It was like one location and then, for most of the episode, just the two love interests. The show creator, Jacob Tierney -- talks a lot about the romance genre and the respect he has for it. He wasn't willing to go with bigger streaming services or providers for the tv show because they wanted him to water down the romance, or include other plot lines, be unfaithful to the book, etc. I read a lot of romance books and I'm always so disappointed by the adaptations. But this one was so good that reading the book after watching this tv show would feel redundant because it's such a copy paste.
