a thing to realise the reason Chopper apparently has such a small bounty, isn't because they think he's their pet. But because he is a small animal person and if they set it high they'd get bounty hunters handing in Tanuki all the time. It is a similar situation with Bepo. Law's best bear has a tiny bounty as well simply because people would just turn in random polar bears.

Dressrosa was a packed and enjoyable arc. I've really come to appreciate it with time and re-watches (I think this was my 12th round). Honestly didn't mind the pacing when bingeing the arc. I know that was a different story while it was week to week. Regardless, it still falls within my top 10 arcs in the series. Also enjoyed your reactions Jack. Highlights were definitely the Sabo and Koala reaction as well as Gear Fourth. The Law flashback also makes the list of course, its been a wonderful journey. Considering the structure and nature of Zou, I honestly can't wait for your reactions.

pacing issues aside, the story of dressrosa, and what it leads to, has to be one of the best arcs of one piece imo. Sabo and the RA, Half the crew have been MIA for half the arc, Fujitoria's sense of morality and the WG's response to it and The straw hat fleet. Massive stuff that just keeps getting better.

dressrosa will (probably) forever be my favorite arc despite the following ones. i mean wano is absolutely amazing but dressrosa has a special place

Episode 747-750 are fillers and 751 upto something like 17:30 is also kind of filler cuz it's just Bart telling the story of how Luffy met the Straw hats one by one (I know you are ahead of this Jack but just saying so we can get an extra episode cuz one of the episode (751) is mostly filler type)

i think one of the biggest issues with dressrosa is that the fanbase was fairly negative on the previous 2 arcs as well. fishman island and punk hazard have substantial pacing issues already and we really needed an arc to restore our faith in toei. keep in mind that bad pacing is much more painful watching week to week. In my opnion, fishman island to dressrosa is the lowest point for One Piece, and punk hazard is definitely my favorite of the 3. You have 5 arcs before you're caught up btw :)

Hi Jack, overenthusiastic idiot here- to explain Chopper's bounty, we have to also look at Bepo's, which is equally low. The Marines recognize that Chopper is a member, but also... anyone can bring a reindeer, raccoon, dog, tanuki, etc. and cash in cause like, all they know is he's a reindeer. Same for Bepo. Put a polar bear in an orange jumpsuit and you got it. There would be a flood of people trying that if they set it to like 200mil, so they make it low to avoid people trying that shit. The fact that they're basically paying $100 a deer is crazy honestly. It's also low-key racist because the marines know about minks but probably regard them as lessers

Jack, remember when Zoro promised Bart an autograph if he helped find Luffy and bring him to Zoro when they were still in the coliseum? Those "drawings" next to the wanted posters on Barts ship are the autographs from the Straw Hats.

I love Dressrosa, but definitely the worst pacing in the series since it was about to catch up with the manga at the time. Gets a bit better from now on and the latest arcs have been pure gas.

The ending of the dressrosa saga actually ended with the sanji's wanted poster "only alive". Ignore the character that was eating coal, thats a filler character.

Well it's not $100 because berries are equivalent to Yen not USD, but yeah. In USD 100 yen would currently be about 64 cents, or back when Dressrosa aired when Yen was much higher value it would have been about $1. With a bounty that low no one would turn in any animals.

If you think about it, the list of Luffy's strong allies who would potentially come to his aid in some final war (like a Marineford situation) is pretty stacked at this point. The Strawhat grand fleet, The Revolutionaries, Shanks, Law, Boa Hancock, Jinbe. Depending on the situation (like a common enemy) I would count Fujitora, Garp, Smoker, Tashigi, and Coby as potential allies as well within the Marines. He also has several kingdoms indebted to him that could help in political matters, but I think since all of them are peaceful countries they would not go to war for him (or rather Luffy would not want them to get involved for that reason even if they wanted to).
