First! Finally caught up again and with all the reveals and everything I was waiting for Jack to see the deer mink and chopper falling in love. With all that happened it got me thinking back about Mr. Prince and how good he was wit planning ahead. Also for Jack: We saw Sanji's backstory about Baraite (hopefully I spelled it right) but yeah I'm curious to learn more about sanji with you, and as for what can be more surprising.... we'll get to see you react to it

Jay P.

I get that you were quite eager to get more info on Sanji but here's a fun fact. The Nekomamushi song was created by Brook's voice actor and Oda really loved it. It impressed him so much that he decided to integrate Nekomamushi into the manga and make the song canon.

Me: This arc is so interesting and I can't wait until Jack uploads a video. Toei Animation: Hold my beer

Portalbeard

Sutchies feel like the most egregious filler I've ever seen. Take a normal calm scene, add some fighting to it for everyone, then back to normal. Brook's Nekomamushi song is a song Brook's VA sang to his real cat, down to the cat's name. It's very sweet.

Jay P.

Ohh yeah I know you're already in WCI but just a bit of a silly tangent. The Minks' quirks are synonymous with their real life animal counterparts. Notice that the Minks who lick the Straw Hats are the dog minks (the same way dogs love licking their owners), the Brook joke (only the dog Minks chase him around and find him appetising), Carrot tends to give light bites as a sign of affection and Nekomamushi being a cat is easily distracted by Silver vine. It's a relatively silly background quirk but I love it when Oda does such things. It genuinely makes the different races unique and not a copy of one another.

Zarian Tyler

That's interesting, I never knew that. I gotta read the manga

Edwardsv13

I will always love how for like 700+ episodes we think we know Sanji's backstory and then Oda hits us with this and more.

Eddy

Jack loosing his sanity over filler is one of my fave parts of his reactions, honestly im doing the same rewatching lmao

Galleon

Zou was the arc I dropped the Anime and started reading the Manga instead. Now i remember why

Umar Baig

Day 3 of asking Jack to unban me on twitch😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼 (I ain't done anything wrong) username is umarb0093

Umar Baig

yes jack the wasp fight and Brook singing wasn't in the manga🤣🤣

Xeth

Brooks Cat Viper song is one of my all time favorites, it’s relaxing! The fact it was written by the VA is awesome. The Sutchie Toei moment is awful though 🤣

Azael Santacruz

Jack!! now if you rewatch the end of Thriller Bark, when Kuma attacks you will see that Sanji offers himself as sacrifice to but zoro knocks him out ... but before that Sanji says he is the one that will give more trouble to the crew eventually anyways, so he's okay with sacrificing himself ... welp you'll realize he knew his family would catch to him someday 😞 but didnt wanted to worry/scare his friends ...Oda was cooking this for Sanji from yeaaars🔥

Monsieur Sanji

Nekomamushi no daaana niiiii aini yukouuuuuu!! 🎵

Random3x

160 episodes, but less than two weeks for Luffy Also the reason Brook likes Cat Viper more is because the Cat Minks don't care he's a skeleton

Renato Hiro

765 is trash but Jack dying from cringe pays it off. Let's see Master Nekomamushi

SimStu

You have to listen to the Master Cat Viper song in the dub. Ian Sinclair, Brooks English VA, did an amazing job, and I love the song

Joe Co

So the song was an original by Brook's Japanese VA about his real life cat. They decided to put it in the show and name that character after his cat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysjAGRJBb1c Here's the original from 2011.

Karman Wilmot

Personally, I liked the episode with the song. I even replayed it and just chilled with the crew while listening to Brook. It may be a bit repetitive, but it's sang beautifully🥰. I'm sure Oda put the bugs there to fill up the episode so he can put the song in it. Because he really liked the song and wanted to put it in the anime.

Atttar Giras

I cannot believe he disrespected soul king's song like that

pepperomashka

That's my fav song I've been singing it for a whole year! Can't believe Jack didn't like it... But it's ok things happen just like day 3 of asking Jack to cosplay Caesar!

pepperomashka

wait, I watched and his reaction was even kinda cute, ahahahahha and I loved the reaction to the reveal in the end

Abraxolotl

The surprising thing is, the brook song actually was (obviously not as long, but still about a page worth of panels). XD Chapter 814 if anyone is interested :p

pink blooky

you CANNOT just say "oh my great googily moogily" 😭😭😭

Sanstorm

u cant see if Brook is high or not

DiamonDust

Ah, apparently he was singing it to his cat? I bet Toei added the excessive use of that first line, tho.

DiamonDust

plus he foreshadowed this all the way from Skypeia arc

DiamonDust

Same, Jack's reaction was the same as mine. I forgot this scene even existed cause I assume I skipped it on rewatch lmao.

DiamonDust

I'm impressed you made it through Dressrosa in that case

DiamonDust

Unless anime changed the line, I think he actually said "Before long, the one who's bound to become the most dangerous person in this crew is me". He didn't say he would cause trouble for the crew, he was saying he would be a threat to the Marines. We know Sanji didn't expect to cause issues for the crew, he even says in these episodes he never expected to hear the name Vinsmoke again and have to face his past. Goda foreshadowed this with saying Sanji was from the north blue, though which is way before that. That was already very significant and raised potential questions because it was clear that there was a portion of his past we were unaware of from some other sea. Plus the bounty poster. Plenty of awesome foreshadowing that show Oda had plans in the works for Sanji for a long long time.

DiamonDust

so damn wholesome lol

DiamonDust

"There is no way we are fighting wasps right now" 😂😂😂 That's the One Piece anime adaptation in a nutshell lmao. Brook's song was cool, but I think the fact that the first part was just repeated lyrics and it coming after the dumb wasp crap made it feel like an annoying time waster. If Brook's song was shorted and on its own I think Jack may have liked it... same with me. I like it after finding out that it was written by Brook's VA, though.

Jay P.

Yeah that's Toei being Toei. Not sure how far you are with the story but they've really improved when it comes to the current arc. To be honest, I've never minded filler material. I just wish they could make it mean something, like they've done in other episodes. I remember an episode towards the end of Wano that was completely filler. I loved it because of the character interactions and the way it was structured. I feel that if they did that more often, give us quality filler material, it wouldn't take much from the story and a majority of the fan base would still love it.

Wesley Owens

"i like the track that brook is playing" little did he know what he was getting into...

Kira Masquerade

The reveal that Sanji is from an assassin family puts all his "covert operations" into perspective... breaking Eneru's ship, closing the gates of justice in Ennies Lobby, and my personal favorite, calling himself Mr Prince in Alabasta and going undercover. Also, in Loguetown, when Usopp got his goggles, it said it was the "latest model from North Blue." Another piece of technology made by Germa 66 perhaps?
