Blud watched the recap!! I guess it fine since it didn't take up the whole episode, soooo excited for WCI i think it's my favourite arc

The Straw Hats splitting up is because they are simply meant to infiltrate Whole Cake without antagonising Big Mom. That's why Luffy simply wanted to go alone at first. The other Straw Hats that accompanied him are meant to be vital to his mission i.e. Nami for navigation, Chopper to treat Pekoms and Brook because he feels responsible for letting Sanji go. Then Pekoms is a Zoan Turtle Turtle fruit user. His shell can be activated/deactivated at will. That's also how he survived Bege's attack, he activated his fruit power once the shooting started.

I've never seen anyone react to this series being so behind on absolutely everything going on >.> I really enjoy how emotive and over the top you always are in your reactions but it's becoming really unnerving to have to cross my fingers every episode in hope that references and callbacks to previous plot points don't just pass right over your head, especially one as obvious as this one....

Ohh King Stelly is actually Sabo's adopted brother from the flashback. He married the Princess of the Goa Kingdom. Shortly after, the King and Prince 'mysteriously' died hence Stelly got to inherit the throne.

Stelly is such an incredibly minor character who has done nothing to be remembered since he was briefly shown nearly 300 episodes ago. Someone working their way through the series for the first time isn't going to remember every little detail as well as series mega-fans that have probably watched it all multiple times, read the manga, etc.

Baffled at how Jack can't fathom why the crew is splitting up after it was explained in the show multiple times. The combination between the incredible memory he has sometimes and the terrible memory he has other times is crazy, this man's brain needs to be studied 😂

Sure that wouldn't be that bad if this was the only detail he missed out on. But 90% of the time he is COMPLETELY out of the loop! This is less about this specific time but the fact that it keeps happening. This is especially bothersome for a show like One Piece. This isn't Dragon Ball, you can't just watch the fights and say you know what the narrative is about, this show loves to hang on to details and bring them back to relevance in the story. I have never seen a content creator before Jack so out of the loop on One Piece while watching, at least not while claiming to be as invested in it as Jack does...

Guys I'm with you on all those points but at the same time don't be too hard on Jack! He's trying! He's invested and emotional and yeah, even though sometimes he skips something - he remembers many other things! Previously he made a whole Hogback callback, he REMEMBERS!

Jack, people are calling for the return of a more detailed “lore wall” to help you remember all the links and characters 😝 Maybe you can make some space between some of the cakes! The recap is pretty bad though…I don’t want to tell you what to do of course, I’ve only watched a few patreon run throughs of One Piece. Most have done more than two episodes when coming across these types of episodes, as most people watching are caught up it isn’t very interesting to see your reaction as it’s just recap. Just mentioning it for future ones that are mostly flashback/don’t go together for hype moments, you might want to do more than two episodes or a single and then three etc. Just sayin that it won’t be great to go two at a time constantly in the future, there will be situations like this but I won’t go into detail obviously. I cant lie, I hate 40% of WCI because of two specific words that get repeated a lot.. I think most that have watched ahead know what im talking about. I cant wait for you to be annoyed at it jack! other than that Im super excited for the you to react to the new arc.

Fault of the anime more than of the arc itself, having read the entirety of WCI with the manga weekly I really didn't have an issue with that, the anime was starting to really push on the in canon filler at that point tho, so they ruined it...

Without spoiling anything for Jack, is this something that’s found in the One Pace edit? Because that’s how I saw WCI and don’t remember anything like that (just a yes or no will do)

Without spoiling it would still appear in the one pace edit. Because it happened in the manga, which he kept highlighting. It was already a lot in the manga though but it was much much worse in the anime

WCI is the best arc One Pace worked on its extremely faithful to the manga otherwise it's bad ngl

Same goes with wano, I see people constantly clowning on wano arc, but I can’t in my right mind understand it. I just did a re-read entirely of wano and it has some of the best written pieces in all of one piece, not to mention its tense drama filled moments, one of the biggest inspirational arc when it comes to japanese mythology, insane climax. I don’t want to talk about that here because of spoilers but sometimes I wonder what the OP community is thinking. Where do they get their legitimate critiszm from? I tend to follow content creators because I think there far more accurate in analyzing oda's manga. Its like the current arc in the manga, again, massive plot reveals, developments, plot twists, one of the best backstories EVER seen in OP. I mean what more do you all want? But yet twitter remains the cesspool that it is and my anime list isn’t all that much greater. Sometimes I feel like a lot of this hate just comes from the fact that people are impatient with oda’s story and its been running for 25+ years and reading week to week takes its toll on the community. If so, go touch grass or do something else my goodness.

Bro, respectfully, chill TF out. You look kind of crazy rn complaining about Jack forgetting something that doesn't even matter. He remembered every single character shown this reaction who had any actual importance. Stelly barely had any screen time and no one gives a shit about him. I could care less if Jack remembers him. Not everyone lives and breathes One Piece like you. I consider myself a huge fan of the series, and even I barely remembered who he was. This show has over 1,100 episodes. Jack is in the loop 95% of the time, and the remaining 5% the show clears up his misunderstanding all by itself. You are being so over-dramatic and need to dial it down a notch. Insulting Jack and his content by saying he is worse at remembering than all other reactors you have seen is also quite rude, have some basic respect.

It's fine, they are going to mention and show how it's a stealth mission many more times. Even it's a stealth mission, Jack is correct in thinking that it is risky for the Straw Hats to split up. Plus, can you blame him for thinking the Staw Hats won't actually be stealthy?

Some of you (not all of you) in the replies could stand to learn how to speak more respectfully to others. If Jack misses something or forgets something, it's not the end of the world. Politely inform him of what he missed and go on with your day. Make a lighthearted joke at his expense if you must. I have seen a few mean spirited or impolite comments that are going too far, however. Some people need to chill out. And to Jack, don't worry your reactions are fantastic as always. I hope most of us are reasonable enough to understand that a first-time watcher will miss or forget things occasionally on a first watch. You genuinely remember the important things and important characters, and when you don't the story usually clears things up for you eventually. It has never been an issue for me in the many years watching your reactions. Granted, I do like and encourage your wall where you keep track of important things. I think any form of note system like that can be beneficial for a very long and detailed series like One Piece.

I like the wall, but if he put every single minor character on the wall it would be way too big and impossible to actually reference. It should prob only be for important stuff. Stelly who he forgot, for example, doesn't deserve to take up wall space IMO. If he forgets him, fine 🤷‍♀️.

Also side note, I like that you watched the recap. Sometimes OP recaps are very beneficial to the story because they can get you reinvested in a character from hundreds of episodes prior by showing you their most impactful moments.

No insults here, but Jack is not in the loop 95% of the time, sorry but that is a bit of an overstatement. I still love his reactions, I wouldn't be here literally paying for them if I didn't. However I am entitled to criticize as well if I feel like it's becoming a bit annoying. Him being more forgetful than all other reactors I've watched is not an insult though... it's just true. Not an attack or anything, again, I'm still here watching his content daily, I wouldn't be forcing myself to do so if I didn't love it. I'm simply stating the factI've never observed other creators I watch forget so many details. And yes, Stelly is nitpicky in that regard as probably more of a detail, but it's one of a growing number of examples, and with One Piece, especially considering the recent months of the manga, every single detail matters, and the manga/anime isn't always going to openly remind you of plotpoints you need to remember to understand the current narrative. Remember that Jack is the one creating content for an audience, said audience is allowed to say what they like or dislike about this content, especially if they pay for it.

I'd encourage you to read my reply to my other comment, but a reminder, criticism is not an insult. I've never called Jack's content bad or anything of the sort, I wouldn't still be here paying for it if I didn't love his reactions, and I eagerly wait for his reactions and watch them in the hour they come out every time. Still, as part of his audience, I am entitled to criticise parts where I feel he is lacking. There is no hate behind it, if anything it is because I care about his content that I feel the need to point out this issue. One Piece only gets more complex from here on and he is really going to struggle to keep up if he doesn't try to take in details a bit more.
