I'd say skip the filler. Most of the filler is kinda bad-mediocre and honestly it's worst when it comes in between arcs. Also the first 2 openings are spoiler free. Same with the first 3 endings. Rest I can't remember as of now. New here but idk how people deal with syncing issues.

Had fun rewatching the first episode. Bleach was the first anime I really watched so the nostalgia will carry for a while. The beginning is very charming and when it ramps up it goes hard for a while until it then crashes and burns, but Bleach at its best is very very good. I did have trouble synching though, it would be nice if some part of the screen (blurred or not) could stay visible so we'd at least now where you are, afaik they're not as bad with strikes as OP so it shouldn't be much of an issue. But skip the fillers, both the episodes and arcs. It's not just that it's mostly non-canon nonsense, they will invent new powers and concepts and characters and cram them in everything they can even when they don't make a lick of sense. It's not just non-canon, it breaks canon and will just confuse you when characters or concepts suddenly aren't mentioned anymore or will actively conflict with new lore. The filler's worst sin is being incredibly boring though but some of the movies are worth a watch.

EDITED Hey Jack! Just a little heads-up as you’re watching Bleach—sometimes the anime plays up certain dynamics more than the manga did, especially when it comes to character relationships. A lot of moments can come across as more romantic than they actually are in the original story. It's good to interpret things your own way of course, but just know the source material handled some stuff differently. Even cutting out moments that are integral to fleshing out certain characters (which I'll likely bring up in future episodes). One thing to be aware of as you watch, Jack—the Bleach anime sometimes adds scenes or changes the tone in ways that don’t always reflect the original manga. It’s not necessarily bad, but in some cases, it can give viewers the wrong impression about certain characters or relationships (like Ichigo and Rukia’s). Some fans have been surprised or even upset later on because of expectations the anime unintentionally sets. Just a heads-up that the anime and manga don’t always align 1:1! Tite Kubo himself voiced his concerns about this. Unfortunately in Japan, manga authors (even famous ones like Kubo) don’t typically have a lot of say in how their work is adapted. Kubo’s main job was delivering the manga weekly—he likely had little time or authority to oversee or veto changes in the anime. i STILL can’t wait to see how you react as things unfold though. Btw, have you only just started on the first episode, or have you recorded more ahead of time?

Definitely some syncing issues when using Disney+, not sure if it will sort itself out in a few episodes or if Hulu will be required to watch along.

Enjoy the ride. I love Bleach, but definitely skip the fillers. Even the main content has its fair share of lulls in a couple arcs, but the parts of the show that stand out are absolute fire. Edit: For what it's worth, the Bleach dub is actually good.

Glad to see you like the ending, I always listen to it myself and I think it’s one of the only endings I don’t skip. 😂 I’d say skip the fillers, you won’t be missing too much iirc. I’m not sure if it’s just me but isn’t Disney the better choice for this? Hulu is US only I think but Disney is accessible for many more people isn’t it? Trying to sync it was a pain but I’ve been looking forward to this so I did it anyway even though I still had issues.

I tried using another site for Bleach and I felt like I wasn't synced up with the video. I had to give it a few seconds for it to catch up. I wanted to use Hulu but I cant stand the ads and my Adblocker no longer works.

I’m so here for this series, I’ve needed to rewatch this show for awhile now. To bad I don’t have the money to have the streaming service with bleach, I just have to sync it to the pirated version through context 😅

I agree, I think Disney is more accessible to most people. Jack may have already watched quite a few episodes on Hulu though and it might be difficult / annoying to switch at this point. I've been looking forward to the Bleach reaction for a while now and don't want to miss out so I'll try to follow along with the syncing issues best as I can

It says he’s on ep1 still on his Anilist, I’m not sure if he would be willing to change if people mentions it but either way I’ll still watch. Honestly I enjoy his reactions either way but I’d prefer reactors to watch it however they like so if he’s happy with Hulu, that’s fine I’ll just deal with the syncing issues. I’m just hyped with the fact he’s started Bleach, even though it’s not particularly my favourite I still enjoy it and think Jack will too.

The problem with bleach filler is that that a couple are genuinely really good (The Invasion Army Arc, Zanpakuto Rebellion) but the rest are all very mid. So i'd say it's not worth it

Just gonna be honest, I wouldn't watch the filler episodes, so I would just end up losing interest in the series. Ultimately up to you obviously but I'm in the skip the filler boat. Love the reactions Jack

There's only 2 filler arcs that I WOULD recommend the zanpaktou rebellion arc and the Gotei 13 invasion arc I feel as those add to the world and lore of Bleach and some events within those are have been talked about in the canon

Second this really hard. Those arcs are quite amazing... two of the best filler arcs in anime history if you ask me. The others are very skippable, and I don't think they enhanced the story as much. I still think all are worth watching, but only those two are reaction worthy for a wide audience.

I can't believe crunchyroll removed all of Bleach, they don't have eva, madoka, lain, trigun, gits, flcl, etc. But all the people getting into anime for the first time are going to Crunchyroll. What are they watching? Like all the new stuff is isekai trash and like no one new to anime is gonna be watching the stuff that actually made anime so popular globally.
