So I'm gonna do my best to explain Urahara's plan 1. Rukia gives Ichigo almost all of her Soul Reaper powers 2. Urahara meets Weakened Rukia helps her and Presumably implants the Hogyoku while she's Unconscious 3. Urahara gives Weakened Rukia a Gigai ( Temporary Human body meant to Restore Spirit Powers ) instead gives her a Special Gigai meant to turn a Weakened Soul Reaper into a Permanent Human 4. Human Rukia would just live out a Normal Human Life until she would eventually die and hopefully take the Hogyoku with her

there is a really wholesome and touching special chapter where aizen, rangiku and momo surprise toshiro with a firework and some deeptalk for his birthday. It is especially heartbreaking knowing aizen simply played the other 3 just for the fun of it and they end up suffering immensly through his treachery. Sadly it wasnt included in the anime.

THE PEAK!!! This twist broke my brain when I was 12, it was so crazy I had no idea. It's rare to see someone who isn't spoiled on Aizen watch Bleach especially nowadays. I think it's incredible how Tite Kubo writes the story so that even though everyone in the soul society is technically, "in the way" of the main characters by this point we still like a lot of them. To the point where, when Hitsugaya looks like he's about to die we're actually concerned, and we're angry for Hinamori Momo. And like you mentioned, it even shows the most evil guy in the soul society that was written for us to hate him, Kurotsuchi Mayuri wasn't even involved at all in this and isn't even part of this evil plan he's just coincidentally a mad scientist asshat. It really makes this big faction that is the Soul Society feel really alive when you have like so many different philosophies that the characters follow going on and we think they're just hard targeting Rukia for some unknown reason and blame it on Byakuya, when in reality they're all just going through the motions and these 3 lunatics are manipulating literally everyone. The 1 second of backstory we got for the blindguy is even more wild to think about now. Also, "The Dog" has every right to be pissed cause if you remember he stopped Kenpachi from killing the blind guy before any of this happened back when Kenpachi broke out of the blind guy's bankai. If he hadn't of blocked it Kenpachi was prepared to kill that guy, and Aizen would have had to send Gin to get Rukia from Renji. It's such a fucking crazy story all done so quickly after the first arc it's bonkers i love it and i'm glad that it seems like you do too.

To be fair they go over it extremely quickly while blasting the viewer with a ton of worldbuilding and character intrigue that they didn't know previously so they don't really have time to process it. It's much easier to come back and watch it a 2nd time and say, "oh obviously that's what happened"
