Perfect timing!!!?

Evan Lin

I just checked my patreon only to be surprised by a new reaction by the GOAT

The reason why Saturn is still there is because he actually was physically there. The others came through that pentagram portal thing. Also, I think the knot of Haki is similar to the weather knots that Nami used and learned about during the timeskip with the wizards on the weather island. Obviously just way more powerful than anything we knew about.

stuart matthew stokes

So a couple of things 1. Saturn is still there because he was the only one that physically came to the Island the others were summoned using Saturn's Devil Fruit and Haki negates DF powers why the elder Returned to base form 2. According to Vegapunks message Joyboy was the first Pirate so he was the first to go against the World Goverment and IMU 3. Also the Haki Knot is somewhat foreshadowed in Weatheria the island Nami went to in the Timeskip

CeoOfSects

saturn didn't return because he wasn't summoned to egghead he travelled there

TripleZed

bro that is not what foreshadowing is

stuart matthew stokes

That is 100% what foreshadowing is, Oda literally explained that energy can be stored in knots for long periods of time and then did nothing with that for 600+ chapters

TripleZed

joyboy's voice actor is urara takano who was the original voice of luffy in an OVA, which came out a year before the anime aired. pretty cool casting callback

Azzylito

I mention this before but the reason why joyboy va sounds like luffy is because it's the same va who did the original voice for luffy in his first ova, before the anime came out

TripleZed

not every callback is foreshadowing, just feel like we all overuse the term foreshadowing especially in one piece.

Jack, you HAVE to see the panel of the last part before the title card, where it shows the final saga character start from Akainu to Luffy. It was so iconic. It’s really shame that Toei didn’t animated like that bc Oda intentionally made it into one panel to strengthen which characters are on the One Piece race. In manga, it’s on chapter 1121!

Nohobojojo

normally sure, but its literally just never been used in the series other than the two events: when it randomly showed us a long time ago, and the time in this episode. the only reason oda had it explained all that time ago was to set this up for the future.

Veritas

The relation I think of is the Black Blades. Mihawk and Ryuma had swords permanently blackened, presumably by Haki, with Shusui being centuries old, so it resembles the knot's function as long-term Haki imbuement. There must be a connection.

Mike Drop

Holy crap, that's cool. She still sounds so young.

The Fphat Gamer

i thought it was a weather knot like nami learned but i guess it works with haki too

Wesley Owens

Emet pulls in bounty rush when

Karatsuki

Crazy to me how they changed the reveal of Joyboys haki to be AFTER he pulled the knot as opposed to during the pull in the manga, kinda ruins the reveal to me Also Saturn stayed on the island because he was physically there meanwhile the other elders just got teleported there

Ender

But it literally is foreshadowing - maybe not for this specific event but for the possibility to store energy in a knot which got never really explained. Just like Skypea had many foreshadows in regards of the sun god.

Shiver

My theory is none of the elders are people and are extensions of imu so when the haki hit them it hurt imu and that's also why they keep coming back because they aren't even alive. (I'm anime only so if this is true I swear I didn't know, however I doubt the Manga has said anything about it)

Artemis

Ok first of all. Let me correct you all on the concept of forshadowing. Foreshadowing does not require a fixed, predetermined outcome and can be improvised or changed later while still functioning effectively within a narrative. If a writer repurposes an early element to justify a later event, the 'connection' is what creates the foreshadowing, not the original intent. So yes this still classifies as forshadowing.

poke master gaming

saturn stayed because he wasnt summoned like the rest he went to egghead on a ship
