NOTE: Had a lot of playback issues with ep. 283 (Hulu for some reason decided to just keep randomly fast forwarding 5 seconds LOL) but it should be cut down to where the sync-up isn't interrupted. Looking for suggestions below on a different platform to watch on going forward!

I wouldn't say you're wrong for feeling underwhelmed by stark, however it's more about that shunsui is actually extremely op. 95% of people there wouldn't beat stark

Shunsui's line was supposed to be, "Once a war starts, both sides lose". Hulu sucks so bad. Shunsui's children games become reality is only his Shikai power you have to say Bankai in order to Bankai and you'll remember the character saying it, Shunsui is just himothy, he can use any game any child has ever played. You also made a perfect prediction in 1 of these episodes but I won't tell you what it is.

I've been watching on Disney+ and it seems like one of the only real differences is the eye-catcher is slightly longer than Hulu, and none of those issues.

Also back when the Stark defeat episode aired people felt the same way but I think the writing purpose of the fight was just to establish that power leads to loneliness, which is a theme Tite Kubo seems to use a lot

I ABSOLUTELY hate Starrk. Boring design, boring powers, did nothing but bitch about wanting to go home. Shunsui carried the fight HARD. My head cannon is that Baraggan should actually be No 1, but Aizen made him No 2 to further humiliate him.

Finally, the Top 3 has fallen. I really like Barragans and Harribels backstorys, cause it really makes you understand why they are the way they are, but Starrk is very weird indeed. Love his design and like his powers but his total lack of a backstory makes him very weird in the grand scheme of things. I think it was said that the reason for the ranking of the Espada is the amount of Spiritual Pressure they have and that's why Starrk is Nr.1 but that still doesn't explain anything, like who was he? Just some random Hollow who just plopped up, was somehow stronger than EVERYONE else and that's it. That's his backstory somehow? It feels kinda jarring how bare-bones that is, especially compared to Nr.2 and Nr.3.

I have been watching on Disney + as well. I will say video quality wise it seems to match Hulu. Disney bought bleach around the time TYBW was announced and they locked it to Hulu and Disney + horrible quality purgatory :/ I have never had that skipping issue on Disney + tho so probably your best non pirating option for the original anime.

Yammy is technically 10 until he gets mad then he is considered 0 (personally i think its dumb but what can you do) Also Aizen only needs you to see his shikai thats how busted his ability is The top 3 Espada were all Vasto Lordes MAYBE even Ulquiorra but we dont know if he was or not Stark's fight had some creative liberties but the key thing is he was holding back the entire time (sounds cheap i know) but the reason was he was scared of tearing the piece of soul that is Lillinette and being alone Head canon that the irony is that Aizen told the Hammerhead guy to seek Hallibel out for revenge, put her in a place where he can step in and get her on his side and then he turns around at the end and does the same to her when shes served her purpose but yea i think the way the top Espada get wrapped up was a bit unfortunate but i see all 3 had their own ironic downfalls most didnt like Stark's in particular

Starrk's defeat as number 1 makes more sense when you understand that Shunsui is just extremely strong... he is one of the strongest captains of all time and most other captains could not even hope to defeat him while he is just using Shikai. Despite that, Starrk still held his own very well vs Shunsui. It took 2 pairs of captains (for a total of 4 captains) including Shunsui to finally take down Starrk. Shunsui even needed to get a sneak attack in with his shikai when Starrk let his guard down fighting two other captains. Starrk personality wise is also just not suited for this kind of battle, he never was. If Starrk had been ruthless and tried to finish off Shunsui right away after he shot him then he might have won. Instead he left Shunsui alive and this leads to him losing thanks to Shunsui coming back with a sneak attack. Starrk also was not fighting as well ever since Barragan died and also when Lilynette vanished since he was depressed.
