Souls in objects is actually a very traditional ancient Japanese belief, objects that you take care of or use a long time will have a soul, and abandoned ones will turn malicious.

why doesnt ichigo ask urahara for help can be used like 20 different times throughout the show and theres never a real reason why he doesnt

The reason why Ichigo's friends don't want to talk with Ichigo about the danger is because they feel like they owe him the 'peaceful life' they believe he wants, and which he also thinks he wants but clearly doesn't. The reason why Ichigo doesn't talk with others is partly because of his personal character flaw where he feels like he has to handle everything on his own, and because he is growing suspicious of people like his father and Urahara. I think both is consistent with the narrative and characters, but you can look at it as just a bad plot, I know many people do, but the reasons are there and it was the same with Visoreds if you look at how he approached them, without discussing it with anyone.

You need to understand that having powers isn't necessarily a great thing, having a strong soul attracts Hollows to you, It's basically like being a piece of bait. Wanting to lose your powers and live an ordinary life is a reasonable thing to want.

Guys I promise the 2nd half of this arc is peak anyone watching it for the first time if you quit now it's like quitting on Angelo in JJBA Part 4 before getting to the real meat and potatoes I swear on God.

Before this arc Ichigo felt like he owed Urahara everything even if it was the other way around. At the beginning of this arc Ginjo mentioned Urahara may be involved in what's happening and may have an alterior motive. Ichigo is also still 17 and isn't sure what to think right now especially after losing his powers. We, the audience at this point are also intentionally left in the dark so we can better understand Ichigo.

It's also very prominent in Shintoism although I don't know if the beliefs came before Shintoism or if they came from Shintoism.

i get it for narrative purposes but i feel like ichigo is the kind of direct mc where he'd go upto urahara if he had an issue with something rather than let some random cast doubt
