Yhwach is pronounced ”You-ha-baha” by the characters in the show. It’s a play on YHWH/Yahweh which is the name of God in Hebrew. The name YHWH means I am awake.

yeah you'd never guess the pronunciation from the spelling, you just have to listen to how they say it. was saying it wrong for like 5 years when i first read TYBW

Yhwach is pronounced ”Yoha-Bakh” and in Japanese they call him "Yoha-Bakha"

Yhwach is the name of the Quincy King, basically. It's based on jewish name for God, YHWH (or christian - Yahweh).

yoo-ha-ba-ha is how they say it in Japanese, and that’s why I stick to lol. But I THINK the name is a play on Jehovah or Yahweh… somebody can correct me if I’m wrong

Yamamoto's spiritual pressure was so strong it made Soi Fon horny. When this came out in the manga people were losing their fucking minds like writing letters to Kubo begging him not to kill off their favorite characters. Knew you'd be pumped to see your goat Zaraki doing what he does. He should have fought the scrawny dude though.

Yeah, you're right. If Ichigo had a schrift, it would just be "G" for Getsuga Tensho. "Hey Ichigo, what does your schrift grant you?" "Getsuga Tensho." Yeah, I get it, that's your move, but what are your actual abilities? Like, Mayuri does advanced scientific research and uses it to enhance his zanpakuto. Aizen has Kyoka Suigetsu, where his powers are basically total hypnosis. Byakuya's Senbonzakura lets him shatter his blade into a thousand petal-like blades to overwhelm his enemy. Kyoraku's Katen Kyokotsu lets him drag enemies into deadly children's games. So what's yours? What does it actually let you do? "Getsuga Tensho."
