Aside for Luffy i think out of every character in the series Doflamingo has the best devil fruit creativity and mastery. He uses his string fruit to cut things, restrain things, for mobility, to manipulate others, and he even has quite a few other tricks up his sleeve we haven't been shown yet. That whip ability he was using is effectively the same as red hawk I think, where Doffy forms many strings into a thicker rope, coats it in haki, and then swings it so hard and fast that friction on the air ignites it.

Law did not move Doflamingo all the way to Dressrosa. He just switched him a bit further away from the ship so his attack's aim would be off. And the attack was strong enough that it still hit all the way over in Dressrosa.

so basically law wasnt intending to fight kaido just used it as an excuse to go kill doflamingo while sacrificing himself, which is why he breaks the alliance
