New Saurian Subraces Feedback

Hello! Thanks for checking out this public feedback version of two new Saurian subraces - the Deinony and the Sarcos. The Saurian race is available now on the DM's Guild as PWYW and as part of our Anthology. For the purposes of getting feedback on the two new subraces we're testing I've included ...

Hi, Benjamin! I love the Sarchos! It's really flavorful, and none of the features feel too out of line. I think the only thing that I would change about it is to add some sort of saving throw if the bite hits to allow creatures to possibly resist being grappled. Otherwise, the Sarchos just has a strictly better way of grappling creatures than any other race, since it would deal damage in addition to not being able to be resisted like a normal grapple check can be. Deinony, however, causes me concern. With the addition of all of the Saurian base race features, Deinony ends up feeling like a much better Tabaxi. They get everything the Tabaxi does except darkvision, a climbing speed, and one more proficiency, but the features they get on top of that more than make up for it: Behemoth Kin, Intimidating Size, Clever, Fleet of Foot, Leaper, Raptor Agility, and an extra language. Tabaxi is already considered a really powerful race, so all the bonuses that Deinony gets on top of what Tabaxi can do just feels like too much. I'm not sure how attached you are to Raptor Agility, but just the removal of that feature would, I think, bring the entire race into balance. Overall, though, I love the flavor of the Deinony, and would love to play as a raptor (Jurassic Park holds a special place in my heart). Best of luck!
