If you have not read this: https://www.rethinkx.com/blog/rethinkx/the-disruption-of-labour-by-humanoid-robots and you found Ray Kurzweil in any way relevant or interesting Stop what you’re doing now and go read the article. I’m a big fan of Ray, I think he’s right about 75 to 80% of the time, that’s tremendous. But so far, over the last decade, Tony Seba has been right nearly 100% of the time. The progress of the Optimus robot from “bumblebee” to untethered walking at near human speed and object interaction and manipulation without human in the loop as we’ve seen in the early May 2024 video demonstrate gigantic strides. At this rate, by mid 2025 I expect 80% manual factory work in Tesla factories to be done by Optimus robots. This is moving far faster than I expected.
