Being from the US, in my opinion, your views on mainstream media are 100% on the money. I remember when I was in grade school and I asked what the difference between the democratic and republican parties was and I was told that democrats are foe the people and Republicans are foe the government. Being an ignorant teen, I then claimed I was a democrat. After discovering I have a brain, I learned that I'm neither. I form my opinion on each topic individually. Many people here don't get past what they think they understand from grade school or their parents. They watch news that only speak on behalf of their party and they don't open their mind up to other possibilities. It's been hammered into their minds for so long its as if nothing else is possible. When presented with verifiable evidence to support the contrary, they do the only things they know how to do. They get emotional, deny, deny, deny, and/or start word vomiting shit about the other party even when the subject had nothing to do with politics. It's sad honestly, but it's the world that we currently live in.
