The most important thing, when you become or are regarded as, or think you are, an "expert" is to always remember that: 1) the sum of all your knowledge is downright minuscule compared to all of what there is to know, and always will be; 2) regardless of what your best understanding of those things you are considered expert in, there is always a non-zero chance that you can still be wrong; and 3) to always remember that the world is a dynamic system, and is always changing. Any "expert" who forgets any of those things is going to have reality blow up in their face.
