Who has pets?

==========The first pet my family had was a black short-haired Dachshund that was a gift for my older sister's 10th birthday. She cheekily named it Scooby after the cartoon Great Dane. I wouldn't say we were the best at taking care of him, since we were kids and knew little about training and disciplining dogs, and between me and my siblings at school and my parents at work we didn't really put as much time into him as we'd like so most of the time it was our family caretakers that dealt with the day-to-day of cleaning and upkeep. But I loved him dearly, he was a good boy and just wanted to be with us when we weren't busy with school and other activities, and I miss taking him on walks around my neighborhood and how he'd match my pace with his tiny legs. As he got older he developed a white beard that made him look sagely and his eyesight started to go bad, on top of his skin problems. I didn't get to be with him when he passed away after 11 years. He was a good boy, and I still miss him.
