Seriously me and my rats can't get a break ._. another tough situation. Yesterday I had to take my 2 remaining rat babies to the vet. Both already had an operation not that long ago. 1 had a small infection around a rotten tooth that was pulled out earlier. But one of them grew a big hump exactly where the last tumor was removed, note; he was still sort of recovering from that, the scar was barely healed. But people on a rat forum and the vet all assumed it was an abcess, pretty simple to remove in most cases. So I'm like; 'Yeah, let's get rid of it" and went back to the wait room. Turns out he had 2 huge tumors ._. the vet didn't discuss it with me and just continued with the operation. Now this rat looks terrible, he was too weak to already undergo such extreme thing. I dunno how this'll turn out but if the vet told me beforehand that the tumor came back I think I would have spared him another stuggle. Seriously he looks so awful....Random rant x.x

Awww poor babies :< I hope they'll get well soon and won't have any more problems! ✊

I agree that the Vet should have definitely let you know and wait for your decision before proceeding with the surgery. Anyways, I wish your rat gets better. Stay strong and let's hope he comes back healthier and stronger than before.

Yeah x.x But he does have a chance now, I would most likely have let him go to spare him more pain (seriously this stitched up cut is huge, covers almost his entire back) But IF he does recover I'm probably gonna be grateful she didn't discus it with me. But right now it's pretty hard to see him in pain, luckily he sleeps a lot

That vet had no business doing the second surgery without consulting with you first. Sounds like they wanted to charge you for another surgery. If a tumor grows back that quick...then there isn't anything you can do to help the baby....as sad as that is. Sorry you are going through this. Maybe you can have one of Kuro's friends own ratties! They can make the occasional appearance :)

Lucazu

It's odd that she went through with it without telling me it were tumors but I don't think she's in it for the money. I brought both rats with me and she told me she'd treat both for the price of 1 (pfft that sounds like an ad xD) if money was the reason she'd charge me for both rats. I think she just did what she thought was best and I hope she's right x.x Having rats appear in the comic sounds fun ^^ I think I will do that if there's an opportunity :P

Give my love to your rats. Cause they are awesome pets. Are Kuro's friends standing at the bottom of the steps?

Oh jeez, Luca, I'm so sorry to read all that : ( truly, rats are some of the HARDEST pets to keep and care for : ( I wish you and your pets all the best : ( *hug*

Oh no such a tough time for poor little things. All the hugs and kisses. Hope they feel better soon.

Holy 💩. I know my 'sister in law' (I used ' seeing as they are kind of engaged) has mice and all I can think is "no thanks" (not a rodent person), but as a pet person I'm shocked and sorry to hear that. Side note: I'm looking into getting cat nip (plaint to get my cat high/relaxed) so that he will stop stressing. We think he is thinking we are going to leave him when we move. He disappeared once before we went to America for about 3 weeks so he skipped going to cat storage (my mother called it that) and reappeared a few weeks after that. If he was human he'd be a child who is looking to cling to daddy who he can't find all the time.

I'm so sorry to hear about your fur babies!! I hope everything works out!

I also got a catnip plant for my cat and he ate both plants in under five days! But he was pretty chill!! I have found the best thing to relax my stressed kitties is the Comfort Zone Feliway Calming Diffusers. It's an investment and it takes a month to see results. I live in a townhouse with 3 floors so I keep 2 diffusers on the 1st and 3rd floors and refill them both monthly. And I buy refills in bulk packs online. But my cats went from trying to kill each other and chew themselves to death to just being lovey dovey and sweet! You should give it a try!

Sorry for your pet troubles, I know how heartbreaking it is when they're sick. You're really doing the best you can though :) I hope your rats aren't in too much discomfort, and you get through this ok :)

Lola

I'm sorry for your babies! I hope they get better soon ... I have guinea pigs and I've had rats too! Tumors are very common problems in rodents... So I guess I will not have more rodents as pets. Makes me very sad see these little pets suffering :( They are so wonderful, so smart! I'm sorry for being sick. My babies and I send you many hugs from here. <3

Lucazu

yush ^^ I gave them hugs. Unfortunally I don't think those 3 will show up again for a while :(

Lucazu

Thanks ^^ *hug* yeah, they're so fragile and tumors are so common for them, unless they come from a good bloodline and I usually get them from good lines, but these 2 are rats I saved, I took them in when they were already 1,5 years old and apparantly they come from a weak line. Still trying my best to keep them safe and happy ^^

Lucazu

thanks :3 I try! They're really old so they sleep a lot whoch is good :3 they'll heal faster that way

Lucazu

Thanks ^^ I think once these two pass away I'll stay alone for a while. It's always hard when they leave and I don't want that anymore x.x I do hope they'll pull through this though. It's really unfortunate that tumors are so common. I never had guinea pigs but they're awesome little friends, I love the cute sounds they make ^^
