Greetings everyone! 

Below is a press release we are sending out at midnight tonight here in Australia (about 2 hours from now) announcing some of our exciting new offers for the Ne Obluminati, including free digital copies of our new album URN, free STEMS for $25+ members & an early release date for members!

Make sure you have a read so you're aware of the free stuff you'll be entitled to, and if you want those stems feel free to upgrade your membership level. ;-)

Once this goes live on our Facebook page it would be hugely appreciated if as many of you as possible could share it with your friends. Since we first started our Patreon in March 2016 we have been working hard to create something special for our fans unlike anything else in the music industry. And so far it has done wonders for us. There are some tours in the past year that literally would not have happened if it weren’t for the money we earned via Patreon and we are so thankful to have so many amazing fans that have supported this new idea and helped us travel the world performing the music we are so passionate about. But we still have a ways to go. 

We have been talking for a while now about our minimum wage goal of $15,000 on Patreon, and with URN set for release in October and another world tour on the horizon, now is the time for us to make the jump to finally do NeO full time. We have been hovering around the 10k mark most of this year and so to achieve that goal we need you to sign up! For as little as $1+ per month you can help us achieve our dream, turn the music industry on its head in the process, and as a result of all this we’ll be able to tour more often to more cities in more countries... PLUS we’ll give you stuff!

In the lead up to the release of our new album ‘URN’ on October 27 we have been negotiating with our record label, Season of Mist, on how we can bring some special deals to our fans to reward all our Patreon members and also to try and encourage as many new people as possible to sign up!

I originally started out with the $5 pledge but increased it to $10 the same month so do I get the free digital copy? Not sure what 'lifetime' meant.

That just means as long as you have given $10 total over your entire time as Patreon member, so this will cover almost all members. The reason we had that is to make sure we weren't giving away free copies of the album to people that had signed up at $1 just for one month. - Tim

So let me get this straight ... let's say someone signs up at the end of september for 25. Then that person gets both perks and once he does he unsubscribes. Is that how it works? I hope that's not what will happen with most people. It just seem that this reward sistem is a little unfair to those of us who - let's say - contribute 10 since the very begining but really cant afford more, because we are students or unemployed or something. Just a little something to think about ... I love you all tho and i can't wait for this album :)

Hopefully they're here to stay! We need more people, that's all. If everyone that gave a like on Facebook would donate $0.25 we would be over the goal. Of course, that's not realistic. But it's just that we need more people to reach the goal!

I am going to guess that the European tour will be announced as last.. Hopefully they don't clash with Solstafir in terms of tour dates.

Hey Janja, in theory it's possible yes. Ideally we would offer things such as these as sign up bonuses with people then locking into a minimum amount of months in order to receive that bonus, but unfortunately Patreon doesn't offer such a thing. Earlier in the year we were offering deals with the EP's and Acoustic show footage etc. and our membership went up from 7k to 10.5k. After the deals expired it went down fairly quickly to 9.5k so some people clearly did just sign up to get the "stuff", but even so our overall membership still went up significantly. As much as we'd like to extend the offer to lower levels, we had to discuss the stems deal quite a bit with our record label before they even let us give it away to anyone and then the proviso was that it was only on the upper levels. I guess we could insist people are members for at least 2 or 3 months before they receive the stems as a bonus but that becomes quite difficult to keep track of and regardless wouldn't help you specifically. Unfortunately negotiating deals like this that aren't conventional is a challenge as it's unusual for bands to make stuff like this available in the first place, and especially not when they have a record deal. -Tim

OK so after thinking about this I've adjusted the terms for the Stems so that people have to sign up before the end of September which means they need to pay for at least Sep & October membership fees and then also have to hang around on Patreon for at least one month (seeing the stems won't be delivered until late October) so they have to see what it's like and hopefully hang around long term! - In the end I think that's about the best we can manage to try and make it as fair as possible whilst also working to encourage new members to sign up. - Tim

Yeah hopefully! When we go on tour the content is a bit different as well and lots of excuses for all sorts of things so it should be more varied than this year flicking between on tour and at home style content.- Tim

That is really amazing! I really hope that when Urn gets released and you've gone on tour again, that you can hit the minimum wage goal. I understand that it's very difficult to get people on board, but hopefully the amazing music and all the amazing content that you put on Patreon can get people on board.

They're going to tour in the US first anyways, and won't tour Europe before 2018 (as they said earlier), so don't get your hopes up ...

This is obviously still a new concept that many fans are getting their heads around but we hope the reputation of our Patreon starts to grow more and more over time so that it just continues to go up and helps secure us a strong future long term.
