Why did you sign up to The Ne Obluminati?

**Patreon exclusive video do not share*

Paul Haberecht

Simply to help a band I love continue to play & write great music

Anne-Laure Marie

I discovered Ne Obliviscaris when you were touring Australia last year and I was blown away and became a member not too long after. I think Patreon is a great way to support bands, especially for someone like me who is generally broke and not geographically stable. It is nice to be able to give a small amount every month and be part of artists' great achievements.

Tina

Discovered you summer 2015. Listened to your reasons for Patreon in May 2016. Thought about it for a while until it made sense (2 months). Basically didn't want you to stop and wanted to see you on tour again. Very simple. P.S. I'm sorry, but I definitely won't film a video.

Desirae Laura

Saw live in Nov 2017, stumbled upon the Patreon campaign shortly before the show. I've seen so many bands live and not once had feelings like I did seeing NeO live, I became a member the very next day. Being able to directly support the band was so important.

Brandon Cleary

I had heard you guys a bit in mid-2018, and decided to go see you guys in Chicago with Wintersun last fall. I was absolutely blown away, and once I saw how difficult it was for you guys to make money as artists and that you guys had a Patreon, I knew I had to sign up for you guys.

Jess Lima

I agree with all the above- In my case, I knew you were coming to town and became devoted to Urn in the coming months. I was completely stunned at the live performance!! Beautiful and flawless. I saw a patreon message on IG and signed up because I love to support my passions and I selfishly want see you perform live again one day. The NeO Patreon has been very entertaining and exclusive so I feel like I’m constantly winning ☺️❤️

Scott Rance

I bought Citadel on vinyl on a whim because someone posted in FB group several times. Blew my mind away.... Quickly hunted down Portal and got completely enraptured.

TR Sam-Sin

The reason why I donate is very simple, I just want to support one of my favorite bands. Also, Tim is the reason I picked up violin last year, and even though it's really hard I enjoy it a lot. Later today I'll make a video and send it to you so hopefully you can use it :). p.s Have you ever tried streaming on twitch (or any other platform)? Matt Heafy (Trivium) and Herman Li (Dragonforce) do that and earn truckloads of money. Especially since there is a great lack of violinists on twitch, it seems like a no brainer to me to at least try it out.

Ronald Chu

Indeed simply to support an amazing band. I heared about the patreon thing because of the (kinda netagive) news articles that people wrote about it, and I decided it to be a good thing and something I'm very much on board with. I'm still buying albums and mercandise, but suporting the band without getting anything in return (nothing phycial, just love and and a good feeling) feels very pure

Bethany

I joined the Patreon because I want to support a band I love, but I live somewhere that's too far away from where the band usually tours, and with the cost of airfare and the atrocious exchange rate, it's not always feasible to get to gigs

Steve Varvaris

I saw you the first time when you were the support for Cradle of Filth. I saw a clean cut guy setting up a violin on the stage and thought this was going to be a comedy routine or something. I never thought of a violin being used in extreme metal, or even metal in general. The show opened up with a track off Portal of I. All my preconceived ideas were shattered and I witnessed one of the greatest shows seen before or since. I followed the band since and when I saw the Patreon video I joined. I want this band to keep making music dammit!!! Thanks for making the Obluminati feel special!!

Matthew McHugh

The reason I signed up to Patreon was to simply support the band directly, as I was blown away by the first two songs I heard from you: And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope & Forget Not, and continued to be throughout the rest of your discography. The bonuses that come with Patreon are great, but the main factor was just to be able to support you guys over your future endeavors, and I hope you continue to keep making music together. Hope to see you guys for the first time the next time you come to Ireland! Cheers.

Steve Varvaris

This is my second year as a member. Last year on my daughter's 21st birthday (she's a Ne Obluminati member too) I reached out to Xen and asked if he could call her for her birthday. Needless to say the great man did, my daughter was ecstatic and my faith in this band was more than justified. When we saw the band at their next gig Xen remembered my daughter and asked if she enjoyed her birthday. Try get another band to care like this one. Love you guys!!!!

I found out about NeO in early 2014. Some page on facebook shared "Forget Not". I was completely enthralled how the song sounded and progressed. Rarely had I eared before such a unique and tasty blend of soft and heavy. Then I checked out the whole album. When Tapestries kicked in, I was transported back to when I found out about Emperor and early Dimmu Borgir. The whole album is a masterpiece and I devoured it over and over again. NeO's music embodies everything I love about metal and music overall: the grooviness, the melodies, the progressions, the sheer talent of the performers. Around the same time you published the pozzible campaign for the World Tour. I thought: "band from Australia, trying to break even, very expensive to travel anywhere, I need to support them since I love the music", so I chipped in 150 AUD for that one. Then I saw them live in 2015... 3 times ! I met a guy at Hellfest completely randomly (he camped next to me) which knew Tim personally and had his contact. I tagged along and then ended up meeting Tim while he was watching At The Gates. I nagged him a bit because I had actually paid for two rewards from the pozzible campaign (the EP and signed PoI). Then I met both Benji and Tim again at Ressurection Fest in Spain and Tim had the signed album for me. Rarely would I expect a band member to have such consideration for a fan. In November 2015 I saw them in Oslo. I got my Citadel digipak signed, and finally got to meet the whole band. Then I saw the patreon campaign and jumped right in. Back then I thought that I knew the band members and they were all really nice people and really talented, that if there is music that I want to listen it is NeO and that they need to be successful no matter what, and that it would be really cool to be acquainted with a famous band that tours internationally. So far I have not been disappointed although I would like a little bit more patreon content (hint: tour vlogging, rehersals, more playthroughs, the new merch stuff). Cheers !

I'll make a 30 second video with these thoughts more concisely, but I'll have a good ol' rant here! I joined the Ne Obluminati back when it started. I was already followjing the band and was looking for a way to best support you guys. I could either choose the accepted method of paying to see you live and maybe buying a shirt or two whenever you were near me (which could months or years apart), or I could buy CD's or pruchase music online (Which doesn't suit me so I'm not getting the best bang for my buck) Queue the Ne Obluminati, which I thought had serious potential. Now I can support the band, get what I felt was the best bang for my buck for supporting them (Nerdy guitar videos, previews of material, discount on merch, getting to ask really nerdy questions no interviewer would go into) What I also get is the community of diehard fans that I keep running into at every show I go to, or plan to meet whenever I travel to se NeO. I'm a Ne Obluminati because I want to support you, and this way is what works for me and I feel is how I can get the most out of supporting a band.

Dina

I want to support my favorite band and enable them to tour as much as possible! Also, the content is really cool: Interviews, live chats, videos from shows and special items like the Plague vinyl and pendant. Patreon makes me feel much more connected with the band and their fans, so joining the Ne Obluminati is definitely worth it!

David Ayotte

Because I don't mind to give 12$/year to an amazing band !

Whammy

I always want more music from the bands I truly like, and that's why I'm here. It's pretty cool you've actually given us Patrons more music too. :D

Moon Moon

To show my love and admiration to my artistic idols & their masterpieces! Sadly I might never be able to worship you guys in scholarly or artistic ways(like, studying on your songs based on music theories or writing a full symphony for you etc...) but at least I can show my support in this financial kind of way. Also I love this feeling of belonging... that I am actually connected to my favorite band & their fans. P.S. It was really exciting to hear others’ experiences through this patron system! Looking forward to future days✨

Janja Uplaznik

I wanted to help my favorite band make music ... For them, for myself, for all of us.. very simple.

David Contreras

I can't promise you a video (It embarrass me, to be honest), but if I do, do you want it in English or Spanish? or both?

David Contreras

Oh, I just realized that tomorrow (april 30th) is my first anniversary as a Ne Obluminati and that's because one year ago i saw you guys in Madrid. Salud!

Valerie Syren

This is a fairly simple concept that goes back many centuries - if you financially support your favorite artists, they will have the means to continue to produce fantastic work for you (and anyone else who enjoys them). I wanted to support my favorite band to ensure that they could continue making brilliant music for a long time to come :) On a side note, Patreon is the only form of social media that I deal with, so this also allows me to receive updates from NeO without having to be involved with any of the other platforms.

Inbar Hasson

I singed up because if we support our favorite band they'll be able to do more (music, tours etc.), and that's a win for all of us.

Eric Heinke

I have been supporting one of the Best and Unique Metal bands Worldwide. My Testimony was back in 2016 saw you guys in North America with Cradle of Filth. Back in 2017 I did not know about Patreon. I told Tim I will be signing up. I finally did it. It has been amazing ride for me. I have build strong relationships with the whole band. North America Tours and 70k Cruise. Their music has opened up different Metal styles for me. Tim and Xen rest of the members thanks. Looking forward to the next album, E

Johan Klovsjö

It’s pretty simple, I wanted (early) access to exclusive content (releases and merch). That’s the absolute main reason.

Francesco Pellegrini

I just love your music and, already having all your albums, I wanted to support you guys even more! <3

Déborah

I met you in 2015. From that moment I fell madly in love with your music. You have managed to touch my heart, which is very difficult to do today. With your music you make me dream and experience wonderful emotions. I simply chose to give a little help to my favorite band to be able to watch you play live, see you compose a lot of music and give you all the support possible. I love your music and you are great and I want to keep trying those beautiful emotions that you make me feel every time I listen to your songs. 🖤

Eva

I joined the Ne Obluminati because your music helped me so much in dark hours. It’s medicine for my broken heart. No other artist has archived that and I just want you to be successful and make music as a full time job. Also, you are all such sweet, kind and fun human beings, which makes it all so much easier 🍀🖤. Thank you.

Tina

Same same but different. 💔🖤

Anca

I didn’t have time to write this earlier but I am guessing now is also a good time. So…why patreon for me…. My first NeO concert was in 2015 at Rockstadt Extreme Fest and what a revelation that was! I knew about the band since maybe 2-3 years before the festival, but it had to be a live concert to steal my heart! When Tim opened up and talked about their issues, it was like a deja-vu. I have friends musicians struggling with similar problems and some of them actually gave up because they could not afford anymore to tour, make music and also have a job and a life in between these… It hurt to see another great band forced to choose… So I joined Patreon from the very first moment it went live and 3 years later I am still here. I believe in giving back to the artists more than just a thank you because music saves. I believe in supporting the artists I like because I would not have what to breathe and feed upon without their music. And lastly, I would not be here today, were it not for these few bands and their music to get me though my darkest moments. And yes, I find solace in NeO’s music. And yes, I shall continue to support "my boys" as long as I can.

Cin

I joined recently, and I'll admit that what ultimately made me sign up was the Sarabande to Nihil EP. I wanted more music from you! I will stay subscribed for as long as I can though, because I feel this is the most direct way for my money to get to you. I listen to all your music through spotify, buying merch from other countries is really difficult here, and you coming on tour around these parts is unlikely, so at least I can contribute this way.

Tina

Welcome 🙂🖤

Diaconu Laura Miruna

Only to support you create great stuff and have more tours around the world ☺️

Dennis Radaelli

Mostly for the exclusive EP (I wasn't able to purchase it when you guys put it in the crowdfuning campaign), but also because I want support you in a direct way :)

Laurie Andrews

I fell in love with the band after seeing you live and I had to do everything I could to support you. I already loved death/black/power metal etc, but I have always had a deep love for the violin. The combination really drew me in.

Vishal Uderani

I fell in love with the music the first time I heard it and after deep diving into all your albums I had to support you guys in a direct way. Also a chance to get access to the EP but that was like an icing on the cake :) Much love from India ! I hope to see you guys play here some day \m/

Mitchell Christman

I signed up because I love the music and can’t sit around without supporting you guys. I love every track I hear and in my eyes no one can compare. It all started with a YouTube video I saw and now here I am. Looking forever forward to new music from you guys as well as enjoying the old!!!

Chris Coleman

Love the music, but also want first dibs on new music and vinyl pre-orders.
