So what do you think would help us raise more money for the charities? Auction or raffle? Would you get involved?

I think that raffle is the way to go. Maybe set a value per ticket and everyone can buy as many tickets as they’d like. The more tickets the more chance of people winning the prize.

Zach Smith

I would prefer raffle, I believe that the auction would likely gain more money but a raffle gives everybody a chance rather than an auction really only being an option for those with higher incomes. Personally I'd love to try and get the vinyl but if it went to auction my chances are almost zero.

Stephen Just

Raffle! While I'd love to own this, I know I'd never be able to find enough spare money to buy it in an Auction, whereas I'd easily throw $10-20 into a raffle for that chance of winning it.

Cormac Jordan

Good on ya lads. I would say a raffle is better, you can plug it all yiu need and the only thing stopping ticket sales is your promotion skills, while an auction, you are hoping that there are enough people to out bid each other over the usual price to make it worth it. I reckon you'd have better luck promoting loads of people pay a relatively low sum for a valuble item, rather than convincing a few well off people to out bid each other over the value of the item.

Øyvin Stensdal

Great initiative! Love it! And my vote goes for the raffle aswell!

Dan Schieffer

I think the raffle is best! As most have said it gives everyone an equal chance, and with fair odds it'll probably get more people in on it

Jon Whitehead

Doing some maths, say max anyone pays for the vinyl in an auction is $1000. The NeO fans group on FB has 2000 members roughly, I don't know how many are on patreon but probable crossover there anyway. 93K like the NeO page - suddenly a raffle comes a no brainer! say 50% of the NeO group and on Patreon are motivated enough to buy a ticket(s) - at $10 a ticket that would be $10,000 to $20,000

Another fundraising idea - Dan does 240bpm for 24 hours :)

Cormac Jordan

Even for Dan, his legs might just fall off 😂

Kevin Watts

Great to see you guys paying it forward! Raffle is a much more profitable idea.

Liam Ainsworth

Raffle 100%. An auction is basically limited to those who have plenty of cash to throw around, meaning many don’t even get a chance. I think I whatever is the fairest option and gives everyone an equal chance is the way to go. Even a limit to the amount of tickets you can buy. Limits the money you’ll get but makes the less fortunate more likely to have a chance at this rare opportunity.

Johan Klovsjö

I wouldn't mind adding another one time fiver to my monthly ne obluminati bill for a good cause and the chance to take home the prize :)

Fabien Corradin

Hi Tim!! I think raffle is better, for you but also for the fans. Because fans who don't have too much money will have a chance to get it, and also you will have more people who will participate. Anyway, it is a very nice idea.

Bethany

Raffle is a great idea! I'd definitely be in for a couple tickets

Lee Price

Very cool idea I think the raffle is the way to go, but if this was copy number 1 were there any test presses of the single? A test could be prize one and the number 1 prize two...

João Eiras

Hi Tim ! With an auction you'll probably end up with a super fan paying something around 100-300 $ but those super fans are most likely already in Patreon and potentially got already a copy of the EP. With a raffle, even open to the public (e.g., your facebook followers) you give a chance for everyone to win, so even if one raffle ticket costs 5$ I'm sure you could get a couple hundred or even thousand people joining. Note: you should allow one person to buy many tickets. Which charities do you want to support ? Some people might be interested in just donating directly.

Dominika

I'm for a raffle too. I think it should be more profitable and also it's a fair chance for anyone to win the EP.

Tom Williams

Agree with raffle. Auctions are great for people who are willing to pump a bunch of money into something. Raffles are more fair to all the participants

Tina

Definitely give the options to buy more tickets, just to raise more money from more generous/wealthy people. And make a nice video where each band member says one sentence about the charity (or if that's logistically difficult, at least have 3 people presenting....).

Stephanie Burke

Raffle for sure. Maybe an auction would work better for something more "wow factor" (not that this isn't of course) like the Intra Venus helm y'all were talking about before.

Laurie Andrews

It seems like a raffle would be the way to make more money for the charities.

Josh lynn

The only charity I support works the weekend shift at the club down the street jk lol. I'd buy a raffle or 2

Tina

What happened to that idea? To give away or auction away the diver's helmet...? 🤔

Kait Holton

I vote raffle. I think more people can get involved that way (:

Eva

Raffle is the better option, as many others above already explained.

Ziv

I vote for raffle as well :)

Lyann Johnes

I vote for the raffle as well, because, as others already said, i think it would raise more money. More people would/could take part if the ticket cost like 5 - 10$ and there would probably also be people spontaneously participating, that previously havent heard that much of you 😊

João Eiras

It might work to do the raffle on kickstarter. It's a popular website, and everything is setup for you. Just create reward tiers for one, two three, ... raffles and the matching price. Leave the campaign running for a week or so. Then do a draw when it ends.

Val

My vote goes to raffle as well, it's the best way to gather as much money as possible for the charities. It's a wonderful idea guys, you never fail to amaze!

Nicolò Faettini

that's wonderful...just discovered that my copy of the Vynil is the 300th (CCC) !

Jevgeni Robakov

Raffle! Would be fair towards all fans and definitely more profitable for the charity.

Tina

P.S. and also write down the names of the charities somewhere in case someone just wants to donate unrelated to the raffle/auction.
