Hey everyone!

So we filmed not 1 but 2 shows on our recent Aussie tour- Melbourne & Brisbane will plans to release both in time. One in some sort of official way via separate DVD or a bonus DVD on next album and the other potentially as a Patreon only digital release.

So what we want to know is if we were to release a standalone DVD, would you buy it?

DVD sales are not what they used to be (due to the huge amount of footage on youtube these days) so many record labels are not sure if it's worth spending the money to print physical copies, but we'd be keen to hear what you think!

Here is a short snippet of a rough draft of part of the Melbourne show as a small taste of what is to come. Please don't share though... this is just for you guys for the time being!

Hey guys! Maybe you guys could add it as an extra for the next Portal of I song Vinyl? I’d love to own one of those for sure!

Noah

Sure!

Gavin Dunbar

...I wouldn't buy one, I'd buy two 😉

Peter Jones

Yep, would totally snag one.

Martin Couto

Or you could do what Cult Of Luna did with their Mariner Live album, they added a download code for the video, I’m sure it saved a lot of money since nothing was physically printed

Tom Gillis

Hell yeah. I have noticed a lot less concert dvd's being released in the past few years. But i prefer dvd's over youtube. When i watch youtube videos i alwayd do it from my phone and that just does not do justice for me when it comes to watching a bands live performance.

Elliot Cole

Oh my God, I would LOVE to have something like this..... But also, I've been meaning to ask if you guys could do some sort of documentary type thing just have a dude with a camera on your with you so fans would be able to get to know the band mates personalities more and get to see the off stage chemistry of the members. As well as you could throw in some your stories about each other and stuff like that. I've been thinking about this for a while. The melodeath band "darkest hour" did this. It's a DVD called "party scars and prison bars" if you want an example of what I'm talking about. I just love you guys so much and would love to see more of your interactions and such. Back to your question though, yes..... I would love a live DVD. I would watch it every month and cry my eyes out. You guys are incredible live. 😍😍😍

Da Guru Bro

Digital release please. I don’t even own a DVD player anymore

Elliot Cole

Another thought... It would be really cool if you guys did a live DVD of an entire album.

Toughy

Personally, I wouldn't buy a standalone DVD. But add it as part of a limited edition CD/DVD pack and I'm sold!

Desirae Laura

Absolutely would, but the idea of a digital release with a downlosd code to keep costs down is a great idea too.

Michael Gillett

Yes i would buy a Physical copy, i do not like the download option which is why i did not get the last Iron Maiden one. I buy DVD's/Blu ray these days and less albums as Live is where it is at for me. Watching them makes relive being at gigs, shame i was at the Sydney one that was not filmed ha ha.

Teirin

I'd be interested.

CJ Kent

Abso-effin-lutely.

Neil Savage

Abso-fucking-lutely!!!!! Any opprtunity for a professionally recorded, mastered, edited video, standalone or packaged DVD or digital, of NeO would be MOST welcome in my world

Stephen Just

YES! That was awesome, need more! Please release one or both

Moon Moon

DEFINITELY! Whether it’s a DVD or a digital release. And I think the documentary would be awesome as Elliot commented! Thank you for sharing, it’s my favourite moment from APFTK...... which I call ”hell’s headbanging” 🤣

Will Moor

Im in. A physical copy would be awesome!!! Be it standalone or bonus disc...whatever.im in.

Andrew Williams

I would definitely buy it as I was at the Brisbane show (include the false start on Plague!) - but as a general rule I dont buy DVDs. If there is a special edition CD release of an album with a live DVD 2nd disc (Like Fleshgod did with Veleno) then Id always shell the extra $$$ for that. Plus itd help with chart positions too :)

Cin

I wouldn't buy a physical DVD, I don't really buy physical copies of anything because shipping costs to my country cost the same as the records or more. I'm all for digital releases and I would pay for a digital code or something of the sort to see it online and/or download it.

Crystal Dunaway

Yes definitely!!! Been asking for this far too long now!!!

Brandon Klemets

Having it in some sort of deluxe version on the next album sounds great. I also think an extra CD in a gem case is a cheaper manufacture cost than a separately cased lone dvd

Kevin Benedict

Like...I would purchase a DIGITAL COPY/Download. That seems to be more what y'all are aiming for I think

Nathan H

Absolutely!!! Blu-ray if possible, but I'd get it no matter what format it is. Digital is fine too!

Dany Babin

Yep, yup, yes, oui, aye and tak, I'd definitely buy your DVDs!

Sven Bröker

I‘d definitely buy a DVD, I‘d even invest some cash into a crowdfunding campaign for your first DVD!

Zach Smith

I'd certainly buy one, especially if blu-ray is possible, but I'd be perfectly content with digital as well!

Eric Heinke

Yes. I would buy. DVD and Blue Ray.

Steve Varvaris

Blu Ray would be preferable, but would buy a DVD. I would buy anything you guys put out.

Wyatt Loftus

blu-ray preferably but I’d definitely buy a copy

Peter Walker

I was at the Melbourne show, so would love a copy of that. But even if I weren’t there I would buy a Blu Ray or DVD release....I’m not into buying digital copies of things, I like to see/hear/hold something tangible with my money spent. Stand alone or as a bonus disc with next album release....just take my money 😊

J

Absolutely! If you had a subtitle option that'd be wicked!

Stephen Seymour

Physical copy if possible, but hell yes.

Dan Schieffer

I would totally buy just about anything you guys throw out at us.. what you do is special, and anything I can do to help you I will do

Janja Uplaznik

I'd buy a DIGITAL release. And I'd be very excited for it 😄

Jon Whitehead

I’ll buy. You could even bring back laser disc - unplayable, but it would look cool 😂

David Contreras

Due to the higher quality it offers, a blu-ray is always a better option. Although, of course, I would buy a DVD (or more than one, to give to friends).

Fredrik Wibäck

Would buy a Blu-Ray, no doubt. Cheers from Sweden!

Richard Bushnell

Yes I would buy a bluray definitely. Would be good to have access to the drumcam footage as an extra too.

Rory Corcoran

Physical collection still going strong on my end! Sorely lacking a NeO video release ;)

Tina

YASSS! (But only DVD because none of my devices can read BluRays....)

Tina

Yes!

Scott Rance

Ahhh YES....How about an accompanying live vinyl release ?

Maik Feldmann

Seems like I am the only one that will not buy. Your live shows are a magic experience, no video can give me that feeling. But a big package with multi camera angles on each musician would convince me to spend a lot. Greetings

André Pregler

Yeeesss!!! I would also prefer bluray over a dvd, but I would buy it none the less!

Lewis Allan

Dude, I would buy the shit out of that. Also like many here, I would prefer blu-ray :)

Marcin Kot

Yes, yes, yes i want that!

Øyvin Stensdal

I would prefer blueray, but yes I would absolutely buy!

Simona

In short, YES!!! It is long awaited!

João Eiras

I have to admit I'm really not interested at all in physical releases of films or video of any sort. On a value + view count relationship, DVDs score quite low. And I think DVD players are a waste of space. I will however, buy physical releases of audio. My suggestion is that you can upload the concerts on pay-per-view websites. E.g., youtube has that feature. And you can perhaps make a list of people that would be interested in a physical release and after a critical number you could do a fancy signed DVD.

Wën

of course, yes, buddies !

Kevin

Put it on Netflix

Dina

Of course, I've been waiting for this for years! I'd buy either format, but would prefer physical. And a BluRay would be even better ;-)

Thomas Krieger

Oh yes, no question about that! A nice looking DVD to put on the shelf would be fantastic!

Marco Gonzalez

Yes, I would buy anything Ne Obliviscaris releases.

Tom Williams

Honestly, no. I don't have time to watch DVDs, and I'd probably only watch a couple of times.

Joe Farrell

I have a couple of Steven Wilson Blu-rays that have five-channel mixes that sound really amazing. Something on that level, I would consider buying. But I kind of suspect that the market for it isn't large enough to justify the expense of producing it.

Avintha Fonseka

Of course! Especially with a nice cover art from Xen.

Laurie Andrews

Of course it would be a great thing to add to my NeO collection <3

Andrew Shugg

DVD is much higher quality playback than YouTube so yes!

Dani Ravn

Yes, and as someone els already have been mentioning, especially with a nice cover art from Xen.

Eva

Count me in. I would prefer a download code, mainly to reduce the use of resources and to have less shipping costs. On the other hand, I am always interested in Xen‘s artwork...

Joshua-Paul Gledhill

Haven't yet had many live DVDs. But they're always fantastic, yes please! Both Ayreon and Leprous have fantastic releases that really wet the appetite as something special - I imagine this would do the same. I often use the audio CDs that they include for portable use, where the DVD would be used 'less' but can be great for remembering the feel and potentially showing other people what the NeO package includes. Short - Yes, I WILL buy

salil kanhere

yes, but it downloadable format. Don't have a DVD player anymore

Jess Lima

I would love to buy the digital version- happy with dvd too. Truly a teaser!

Matt Messmer

I would definitely buy a bluray or HD digital download (prefer digital so I don't have to hang on to a disc forever). Wouldn't buy a DVD just because the video quality wouldn't be worth it. Edit: Considering the YouTube vid is in 1080p, I assume you meant bluray anyway :) but again, digital version would still be preferable and I'm guessing cheaper for you guys, too!

Veli-Petteri Puustinen

Yeah for sure! It's always great to watch live-dvd on your big television and drink few beers and enjoy.

Axel Greiner

Definitely would buy a live audio CD, so I'd also buy the dvd/bluray if separate audio discs were included.

Sylvain Meunier

Definitely! Would it be available in bluray?

Daniel Edwards

Would definitely buy on Blu Ray (preferably) or DVD. Would also love a vinyl release too.

Cormac Jordan

I'd love to get it in Blu-Ray/DVD or maybe unlisted youtube link? I just want a way to see a full, HD video of you live! :D

John McVey

I would definitely buy a DVD or BluRay. I also agree with another commenter suggesting a download code.

Chris Howarth

Perhaps release it on Blu-ray as a bundle with your next album. Have the cd and then have a special edition with the concert. Wouldn't be too much either.

BK

Yeah, sure. Bluray would be better. I'm not a fan of Youtube clips beyond single tracks here and there. The quality is usually shit and it's not a great experience. I know not everyone has home theatre/multi-channel set ups, but for those that do, getting a properly recorded show is preferable to watching it on the computer/phone/tablet/whatever. I like Chris Howarth's comment above. Yeah, what he said.

Les Tuttle

Yes, I would def buy it.

Alek Bienias

For sure! Blu-ray and digital version
