Daniel Marrable

Thanks for the shout out guys, it was my pleasure

Valerie Syren

The very first crowd-funding thing I ever did was back in 2014 for Wilderun's 'Sleep At the Edge of the Earth' album (which was released the following year). I was a huge fan of their first album and was excited to help contribute to their next release. So happy to see them doing well and getting more recognition!

Desirae Laura

This album a friend recommended knowing I'd love. I only heard the album for maybe a week before I made my list. I was beyond blown away and love the album more each time I listen. Easily at the very top of my aoty now! It's in constant rotation I can't get enough of it and I have no idea how I had never heard of them before.

Bethany

Interesting and diverse list from all of us! I personally think "Heart Like A Grave" is Insomnium's best album yet, but that's me. Now if you lot could do a European tour with them, I would make a trip from #DarkestAfrica for a few of those dates!

Eva

That would be awesome 👌🏻🤞🏻

Eva

I had Insomnium as my No. 3. I just saw them here on tour, and the atmosphere at their shows is always great. I actually saw a guy in a NeO shirt at that show 😊. You would make a lot of people happy if you would manage to tour with them, maybe a a co headliner? My No2 and 1 Swallow the Sun and Borknagar - and the decision which was my No.1 was made by dice 😉. I couldn’t decide which I love more. 😅

Sarah Yucel

This was fun! Thank you Daniel, really great to see all the entries! Insomnium was not in my top 10 even if it’s a good album! Had Numenorean for my first and runner up Swallow the Sun. Four of my choices made the NeO list ( Swallow the Sun, Mgla, Leprous and Wilderun) so I’m happy with that!

Dina

5 of my choices made it into the top 10😁 Also very interesting personal lists Xen and Tim, I will have to check out those that I haven't heard of yet🙂 And thank you for your efforts Daniel!

Desirae Laura

That Lingua Ignota choice of Xen's is amazing too!

Noam Barnea

Can you write Xen's list with all the obscure bands? ;) And Tim's folk band

Noam Barnea

I'll post my top 10 here when 2019 is officially over! :P or later, so I have more time to digest. including non-metal! :P

Eva

It’s at the end of the video, they have both lists roll through the screen

Noam Barnea

Oh, my bad! ;) tnaks (that was a typo and I liked it)

Tim Farides

Wilderun is amazing! Glad they made the list... you guys should definitely get touring together...

karlo doroc

great pick with Schammasch Xen, my favourite black metal band right now!

Desirae Laura

Ended up in my top 5, killer release.

karlo doroc

same. and their last record is one of my favourite black metal releases ever

George Quiriconi

My favs are In Mourning Garden Of Storms, and Arch/Matheos Winter Ethereal. These are the only ones that really blew me away and the ones I listen to the most. Winter Ethereal’s first song midblowing.

Valerie Syren

I'm amazed at how much they grow with each album, and quite glad you discovered them!

Johan Klovsjö

Iapetus is a band I thought more NeO fans would enjoy. Maybe you all just haven't heard of them much yet. Go check them out!

Michael Bednowicz

I'm in for a tour of NeO, Swallow the Sun, Insomnium, and Alcest. I agree with Xen: early Leprous (with the harsh vocals) was worthy. Everything they did after wasn't as interesting.

Yasith

Nice, I will be checking these out!

Tina

Y'all forgot about NAILED TO OBSCURITY's "Black Frost". Sadly albums that came out in January get easily forgotten and overlooked.💔
