As part of our Portal of I 10th birthday celebrations, Martino has also filmed this bass playthrough of 'Forget Not'.

It will be released publicly sometime in June, but is being released here on Patreon early so that each of you get a chance to see it first!

We'd love to hear from you about your connection to this song! We know it's a special one for many people- us included.

Forget Not Tino playthrough

Comments

Astonishing! I have throughout the years been constantly amazed by the musicianship which the members of this band possess - mind blowing. I’ve always wondered though Tino, how much practice does it take for you to learn and nail a song like Forget Not, and do you actually recall 100% of the notes the whole time or do you sometime improvise a note here or there?

Hey Niklas! Thanks for the compliments :) Learning it is not something that requires practice, more like getting the ear training skills through time is what I think one should aim for, after that it's all about internalizing the movements and singing along so that you know where to move forward (and if needed, also helps to improvise by always understanding and knowing where you are and what you're playing). I'm still waiting to see this song performed live (by the whole band). Or at least watch a decent recorded live version (supposedly part of the Australian shows 2019)....

This was the first NeO song I discovered ever. The lyrical nature of it and the sound absolutely blew me away. Found it after my grandfather had passed away who I was very close with. This song got me through a lot and so did Portal of I. It still remains my favorite song of all time.
