The show opens in 3 days, but here's an early reveal of my painting for my patrons <3

I used Caran d'ache coloured pencils to line the painting. I didn't end up doing a lot of shading.

Details:

Once done, I had to take it to the framers even though I already had a frame because I didn't have the parts to secure the backboard. I got them to put in a proper non-acidic foam backboard too, so it wouldn't degrade the painting with time.

The show's theme is food - (buffet, potluck, foraging, dinner spread, etc)
Since I've had a lot of reassessing to do in the past six months about my life, I went with the theme of "picking joy" and tied it into foraging.

Maybe some may recognise the figures from this painting?
I actually want to do a series of painting with these two (including the bird) and perhaps even do a solo show someday!

Oh it’s lovely! It’s so fascinating to see how large this piece is yet so simple.. yet still so complex! I’m always curious about your character with the pigtails… I see them often in your works!

Thank you! I don't really identify them as "characters", they're... more like "figures". The difference is important to me because they're like an empty vessel instead of characters with stories. The pigtail figure is a "default" shape I find aesthetically pleasing to draw. The silhouette itself is heavily influenced by Make from Soul Eater haha
