I'm working on another sculpture!
This one is more of a practise piece than anything with a concept or a motif- I wanted to try my hand at 3D stylised realism.

As always, I start building the clay over top of aluminium foil filling. I skipped the wire skeleton this time, but I really should've used them for structural stability while I'm working with soft clay.

Building the face- I started with the nose and slowly bulked up the cheek area, then the lips. Just putting crass dents where the eyes would be to be worked on later.

On to the torso. Starting with the shoulders, I added collar bones to use as a guide, then the chest area and arms. The neck will be scaled back and shaped later in balance to the finished torso.

Once I'm happy with the torso and neck, I go back to working on the face- starting with the eyes.
