ADHD be like

Tanuki

It's not time to complain, it's time to enjoy

Curtis Ibsen

One of the biggest "issues" when it comes to fat: It's easier to gain it then it is to lose it.

Ding1030

If she actually loses weight instead of gains it my disappointment will be immeasurable. 605 pages to get to this point and now we are going backwards? She should be gaining weight not losing!

Baran

Have some patience Myu 😂 You'll be able to gain as much as you want when the contest starts

Anon8371

Depends on the person, I find it easier to lose weight because I have a small appetite

E

Five years of following this thing and I've never liked Nadette. This doesn't help. >_>

E

Does anybody have any recommendations for a different comic that I could be reading? I'll still follow this, but the way it has really dragged from one stressful chapter into another over the last five years is definitely toxicity that needs to be balanced out. I want something that feels good once in a while.

Shapeshifter10

I think I can kinda see where you’re coming from with this but could you specify what toxicity means in this instance?

E

It took quite a while to see Myu smile the first time and it hasn't looked too natural the few times she has. Most of what we have seen so far, Myu has either been stressed or depressed. Sure, the most interesting stories have conflict, but half a decade of the negativity outweighing the positivity and then positives being blown by negatives, as we see demonastrated in this page, just makes it all feel gloomy.

E

Crap. Mobile doesn't allow line breaks and just sends the message instead. I was going to talk about how a friend forcing Myu to hold off on her lifelong desires so it can be exploited for a competition and then acting like an absolute asshole over it is also quite a toxic arc. Did that not feel like Nadette refused to understand Myu?

Ding1030

At this point it's use the linker to pretend to be slim while still gaining or screw nadette and gain anyway. My stuck her neck out for nadette and she's just being held back because of some stupid rule. You know what myu should do? Take the penalty and triple down on the gains to balance the penalty out. Was it even explained WHY she can't gain anyway? Was she weighed when she accepted the position or something?

Shapeshifter10

Yeah, I’ve had that happen before. I’ll answer both in one reply. First, I agree. The majority of Myu centric content usually has her like that, and I think the reason why it stands out as much as it does is because it’s the result of there barely being any levity when Myu is the focus. I think it’s yet another reason why Myu not obsessing over her gains like she used to is so unfulfilling. From almost only ever checking her belly in bathroom scenes, to not having any significant scenes about her weight gain process that the other characters get to have, it’s all emphasized her hardships too much as the only significant levity she ever has is more about other people rather than it being about her. So when she’s out doing something with a friend who’s gotten more than plenty of attention it’s like that levity isn’t her own. Right now this the first scene we’ve ever had of myu truly grasping how fat she’s got and acting like her old self again… in a scenario where she’s meant to feel guilty about it and will likely be getting shit for feeling this way since it will be seen as her not caring. We haven’t really experienced what it’s like for Myu to achieve her dream much so to put the twist of her grappling with what it’s like for a fat girl to lose weight doesn’t work cause she’s barely done anything with what it’s like to start becoming a fat girl at all. - Now for the second one, it’s kinda yes and no. It is true Naddet isn’t really being reasonable here but she was when asking her if she could hold off gaining weight for a while so she could count it in her KGL score a lot of bases were covered. Myu was going to gain weight anyway so it’s not too unreasonable to ask if she could wait a few months to help her, even saying after what she’s told her about her gains before she “deserved a no” and when she wakes up she can “give it her all”. So she’s not forcing her. It’s not like she’s telling her to hold off her dreams entirely, even promising Myu she didn’t have to tube feed so she doesn’t have to do it at the rapid pace Naddet had been pushing her to do prior, meaning she’s going to let her do it the way she wants in return for her help even if it’s not as fast as possible that would benefit her. So her hurt feelings are justified, and didn’t force her… but Myu was put into a no win situation and couldn’t really turn her down. For starters, it was an honest mistake so it’s not nearly as bad as Naddet wants it make it out to be. She was just trying to balance her potential losses ahead of time and overshot it. Second, she probably would have acted betrayed like this if Myu said no anyway. If her problem is she felt like myu would surly have had her back then saying no wasn’t really an option. Plus, Myu already knows what Naddet gets like when she feels rejected after they both went through Zina ditching them at a moment’s notice so she wouldn’t want to put her through that again. - As for Naddet being unreasonable… that’s probably going to get worse. When Myu tried to cover her belly hang after being made aware of its existence Naddet jumped the gun Seeing as her goal now is to lose weight it wouldn’t be fitting for the blooming nectar to do what it would be expected to do, especially since it can even cause weight gain regardless of diet, meaning she’ll get shit for not keeping her promise even if it can’t be helped. And because we know Myu is too out of shape to run after she was out of breath trying to follow Ilya the lethargy blooming nectar causes will be waved off as just that, and won’t go away cause she can’t eat enough calories to negate the low energy output. By the time Naddet wakes up it’s not going to be pretty and will probably set a bad tone that will hang over Myu the rest of the story.
