Themed poll update (Patreon)

Hi everyone,

Before the new themed poll, "Struggling in the shower", arrives next week (a little later than planned), here's a change to the rules that will take effect with it.

As you may know, themed polls are split into two stages:

During the first week, you vote for a theme; for example "Genshin Impact characters".

During the second week, you vote for a suggestion within that theme, for example "Ganyu" or "Shogun Raiden", who are Genshin Impact characters.

One issue I've left unresolved for a while concerns the expectations of patrons who suggest themes. When you submit a theme and hope for it to win, you usually already have a specific character or idea in mind that you'd like to suggest afterward, and naturally hope that suggestion will win as well.

Unfortunately, when a theme wins, the person who originally suggested it rarely sees their own suggestion place first or second in the following poll, meaning they often receive neither a full drawing nor a sketch of their suggestion. I consider this a problem because it makes winning the theme poll much less rewarding than other polls for the person who made the suggestion.

So, from now on:

The person who suggested the winning theme will also receive a sketch. This is in addition to the existing sketch awarded for second place.

All patrons who supported the winning theme during its winning run will receive one additional support for their suggestion in the subsequent themed poll, provided they submit a suggestion for it.

If the suggestion isn't renewed or supported by the person who initially suggested it, they lose their claim to the sketch. Anyone who renews or supports the abandoned suggestion may then claim the sketch if the theme wins.

If several people renew or support the same abandoned suggestion priority will be determined first by the number of supports, then by who supported it earliest, and finally by seniority as a patron.

I'll directly message the person who earns the sketch so we can work out what it will feature (a mainstream character or OC, but not another artist's or patron's OC).

If you're a patron who suggested a winning theme in the past, feel free to message me so that we can see if I can grant you a sketch retroactively.

That's all for now!
