Carryover votes update (Patreon)

As members of the Super Size Tier, you're probably at least a little familiar with suggestions posts, even if just as a reader. Suggestions come with a few rules, and I'm updating one in particular regarding the way carryover votes work.

Votes are carried over from previous polls only when a suggestion is in consecutive polls. Let's say there are four Super Size polls, in January, March, May and July. A suggestion made in January will keep some of its votes in March if it's suggested again, and the bonus will keep stacking up similarly in May and July, assuming the suggestion is made both times. However, if the suggestion isn't made in May, all bonus votes are lost, even if the suggestion is renewed in July.

The change is that any suggestion having appeared at least two times in a poll category will now be allowed to miss one poll without losing carryover votes. In many categories missing a poll implies having to wait many weeks before the category comes back, which is a little too penalizing.

Please note that this change extends to points in the sketch queue. While the way points work is different, the way they're kept/lost is the same as carryover votes.
