Hey friends, great news! 🎉 After much consideration, I've decided to participate in Inktober this year. The theme I've chosen is tiny houses and storefronts. 🏡 I've never drawn houses before, so I thought this would be a great way to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. ✨

I've also set some rules for myself:

No pencil ✏️ – I'll be using only fineliners and markers, specifically a brown fineliner.

Small format 📏 – I’ve made a custom sketchbook with 15 pages, and the size is half of my usual A5 format. If you’re interested in how to make a sketchbook like this, here is the video. 🎥

Max 30 minutes per drawing ⏱️ – I want to speed up my process, so I don’t spend too much time on each piece. I often get caught up in adding too many details, and this will help me learn to create quicker sketches.

Experiment with new color combinations 🎨 – Over the years, I’ve tended to use the same color combos, which can make my drawings look similar. This time, I want to experiment and try some unusual mixes that I haven't used before.

No pressure 🌿 – I'll aim for at least one drawing every 2-3 days. If I can draw more, that's great, but I won’t stress about doing one every single day. By the end of Inktober, I hope to have at least 10 tiny houses completed.

I'll be sharing all my Inktober drawings with you here, along with the reference photos I use. 📸 I hope you'll join me in this challenge! 💪

I enjoy using a different color fine line pen, that’s a great idea for the challenge

Hiii. This tiny house is sooo beautiful! Which is it?

I know! I’m always tempted to experiment with different colored fineliners, but I keep going back to black—it just feels like the best fit for my drawing style! 😊 I’ve even tried using colored pencils instead of fineliners, but black still seems to work best for me.

Which prompt of tiny houses was this? Or do you use your own prompts with the theme of tiny houses? Uuuhh I hope this was right in English 😅

art.is.journey

Hey there! 😊 No worries about the English—it’s great! This year, I’m not using an official prompt list. Instead, I’m drawing inspiration from various tiny houses I find on Pinterest. So, it’s more about exploring my own ideas within the theme of tiny houses! I’m really enjoying the freedom it brings. How about you? Are you following any prompts this Inktober?

PuzzlesBlogt

That's great! In fact you inspired me this year a lot. I tried to push me with my own handmade Sketchbook and tiny houses, too!🥰 I remember me as a kid I sat down on a bus station all days long and drew the house on the other side of the street. Since then I didn't draw any houses but as I saw yours.. my passion about it starts to be alive again and I tried! It's a very special feeling. I follow you many years and the decision to be your patrion means really a lot to me. I'm very happy about. Thanks for asking🥰🥰🥰

Hi, what kind of sketchbook are you using? Please inform. Thank you.

art.is.journey

Hi Paula! I made this sketchbook myself using Canson The Wall paper. It’s a thick, double-sided paper, and you can find it in most art stores. If you’re interested in how to make a sketchbook like this, there’s a link in the post to the full video. Hope it helps! ❤️
