I do like these quieter, transitory chapters. Especially since it allows more insight to Amanda and Nicole's current mental state. I do like how they can separate their thoughts and "converse." It does make me wonder about a question I've been wondering about for a while- what exactly is Nicandra's "Relationship" to Amanda and Nicole? Is Nicandra a personae the two girls put on while their minds are merged? Basically being the type of woman they wished they could be? Or is Nicandra a something of a separate personality to the girls? That her actions are informed by her "constituents" but with some degree of autonomy? Or is it more Freudian? That Amanda is the Id (primal instincts), Nicole is the superego (morals and societal rules) while Nicandra is the ego and mediator between the two?
