Let us know which thumbnail you prefer. We discuss your votes and comments every week in a team meeting. We then test out multiple thumbnails for our videos to see what the subscribers on YouTube like too, we love to get your feedback to help us pick the perfect thumbnail. In this video we reveal the cause of The B.O.A.T or Brightest Of All Time, a gamma ray burst that blinded our gamma ray detectors the world-over, and unleashed more energy in a matter of seconds than our sun will emit over its entire 9-billion-year lifespan.

Of course, B. O. A. T. should really be "Brightest Of All Time Since We Started Looking" :-)

I don’t know how popular your thumbnail polls are, but I don’t find it that exciting myself. Other Patreon creators suggest a list of potential video topics. And of course this can be a list of topics you already plan to cover, but it would just guide you in the direction of most interest…

Great point! It's not only only that gamma has been known since the year 1900, but the first real space-based gamma observatory, the CGRO mission if I'm not mistaken, was launched in 1991. We have in fact been looking for just 33 years. Worst of all, we don't know if it happens twice a century, or once in 100,000 years and we've been simply extremely lucky. What we do certainly know, however, is that those events happen in the young universe, very far away. If it weren't so, we simply wouldn't be here to observe them... :-)
