Content

So someone was leaking my Patreon posts.

You guys have probably noticed that when viewing videos, you have to authorize with Patreon. Many of you will remember that you didn't have to do this before.

Unfortunately, at some point it seems that someone paid for access and continued to pay for access while providing their login session to an online "archiver" (we know that's not what those sites are actually doing) to download and host my content without my permission.

To combat this, in order to actually view the video, you now need to login via Patreon and have an active pledge to the appropriate tier assigned to the video. I know this adds an extra step -- and I apologize that it's come down to this. Personally, I'm not concerned with the money side of things on my side. It's the fact that all of my other members have rightfully paid to access my content and it's simply unfair.

However, at the end of the day, I want you guys to have the best experience possible. There's a poll at the bottom of this post, please take a moment to leave a vote regarding this authentication system. Should I just remove it, or should I keep trying to make it work?

Notice to iOS Users:

I thought Mega was going to be a pretty good solution moving forward to host videos. They have their own video player and embed system, so I figured I could just piggyback off of that. I was wrong. It appears that iOS has heavy limitations on third-party video players, and Mega's video player simply won't work. So if you're on an iOS device, you've probably seen you have to download the Mega App in order to view the video. Obviously, that sucks and I won't be using that anymore.

I am working very hard to get integrated video playback working, and I'll drop the Mega player entirely, however I'm running into some issues. For now, iOS users will have to use the Mega app to view my videos, but I promise it won't be much longer.

Thanks for bearing with me, ya'll πŸ’›

xoxo
