"What If I'm Hurt Again" EARLY VERSION (Patreon)

By request of one of our $10 patrons, Caesar, this is an early version of "What If I'm Hurt Again".

According to the date of this export, this version was done on June 26, 2015. Still sounds great, but ultimately was a bit too fake and too busy once I put my vocals on it.

I originally had a LinnDrum drum machine (a famous drum machine from the 80s; you can hear its usage all over MJ's Thriller or "24K Magic", for instance) but eventually replaced it with actual drums that I played in my dad's studio.

This was also prior to the "Redbone" influence that changed things quite a bit.

For the nerds, here's some other changes you may notice:

- Structure was changed. Intro was shortened, a piano solo was added to the breakdown, etc.

- The clavinets changed. Mainly, they were given a "wah" effect which gives it a more psychedelic funk feel. Again, very influenced by "Redbone" and Stevie Wonder stuff.

- Guitars actually are almost identical! I had my talented buddy Bennett Roach record guitars and the way we recorded them are pretty much the way they went out the door.

- Overall, this version may be even more 80s-esque than the final version.

Enjoy!
