It’s time to address the white elephant in the room here (Patreon)

$5 and $10 perks have been dead for the past few months. And I’ve been trying to take care of it but I made the brutal mistake of spreading myself too thin. I need to be focusing on the things I truly care about pushing and, well, Patreon isn’t it. And not to mention since I don’t have a manager, it’s far too hard to keep track. I have a very tough time keeping things in order.

So here’s the deal. I am still very open to doing $5 patron songs if I were to perhaps stream it, so I’m hitting two birds with one stone. However, I am not 100% on that idea.

As for the $10 patron deal? Well... let me be frank. What I expected (which was a very bad thing for me to do) was you guys would request original pieces that were in certain styles, so I’d have a reason to practice making music that may not be my style, while you guys get the benefit of hearing and downloading it for your own listening pleasure. The thing I didn’t think about, however, was that my fans know me for a specific sound. What you guys are naturally going to want is a remix or rearrangement of songs you like but with my twist on them. That only makes sense and I totally get that, but that’s not what I initially assumed, but we know what happens when one assumes. 

And you guys know, I love rearranging or doing my own version of something. You guys are well aware of this because of my numerous covers I’ve done. However, i have to be inspired to make those happen. And to be totally honest, nothing against the songs you guys had been requesting me, but none of them really brought any sort of exciting inspiration to me. It became harder and harder to keep them coming with everything else I had to do, and lacking in inspiration meant lack in motivation which ultimately turned into lack of any $10 songs for the past, well, long time now.

So, as it stands right now, I am retiring the $10 patron perk. You are still able to be a $10 patron if you simply want to support, but I am dropping the perk. I am truly sorry to everyone who had a request that didn’t go through, so let me know if I need to refund any of you. I may eventually rethink it and do something that would be more exciting for me, but at the moment I’m already so distracted by the millions of things I’m doing that it’s probably best to back off for a bit. Again, if you simply want to continue supporting, being a $10 patron is not going away. Simply the perk as it stands right now is.

As for $5 patrons? Well, I think I will either do them bi-monthly (as I almost have been doing already anyway) and stream the process, or I will bump up the perk to $10 and just replace the $10 perk with what is currently the $5 one. Otherwise, if neither of those options, then I will be dropping that one as well. I’d love to at least do one more though, for my incredible supporters.
